G.i. Joe Con 2013 exclusive – Nocturnal Fire /Night Force 15 figure pack

Thanks to my good buddy, Chester, for helping me get this.

Charbroil

Very nice headsculpt

Comes with a “flame” accessory to boot.

Muskrat

Unlike the vintage headsculpt, which sort of had a “smiling” face, this one is all business.

Weapon holsters.

Removable silencers

Rifle and bolo.

Spearhead and Max

Max the bobcat (lol… Gi Zoo?)

Hit and Run

Weapon holsters

Comparison with the old Hit and Run (redeco of Airborne) from the Assault on Cobra Island Boxset.

For some reason, this headsculpt on Hit and Run reminds me of Josh Brolin (or Nick Nolte).

He also comes with a bag with explosive land mines.

Grappling hook

Repeater

I really like the look of this figure.

From what I’ve seen over at Generalsjoes.com, I think this is how the robotic arm should clip on?

Unfortunately, the ammo feed doesn’t fit into this backpack, only the other one.

Secondary backpack

Psyche-Out

Radars! I have no idea why he has so many, but shouldn’t it give him, I dunno… cancer or something??

For some strange reason, in this set, Psyche-Out, Spearhead and Hit and Run all have the same type of rifles…

The Night Force crew so far

Cobra Mortal

The figure is very loosely based on the vintage toyline from Plastirama’s Gi Joe Run in Argentina. Why they went with white instead of silver and red is beyond me. For me, I’ll just call him “clone Snake Eyes” or “Shattered Glass Snake Eyes “ .

Uzi and explosives bag.

The original Mortal came with a Crossbow, I guess this is a throwback to that.

… a dagger?

CQC

Crimson Asp

Flamethrower

Rifle

Thumper grenade launcher

Cobra Letal

Same as Mortal, this guy is a homage to Plastirama’s vintage figure.

FRAG Viper

Lol… Jai Alai Viper

Grenades can be loaded into the cesta. Attaching the cesta is a huuuuge pain the neck. I’m not really sure if I did it right.

Rifle

Comes as 3 per boxset.

S.A.W. Viper

Can’t say I like this figure, doesn’t really look much like the old vintage toy.

Comes with 2 knives.

Each boxset comes with 3 S.A.W. Vipers.

The S.A.W. Viper is infamous for it’s first appearance in the old Marvel Comics G.i. Joe run, as the first ever Cobra agent to kill 4 Joes (plus 3 more in the succeeding chase). This happened in issues 109-110.

A strike force lead by Lt. Falcon and Duke are captured in an ambush. Thanks to a miscommunication from Cobra Commander on how to deal with the situation, the Crimson Twins order a S.A.W. Viper to kill the Joes who were thrown down a ditch.

The list of team members in the botched Op

-Doc (Shot in the face, first to die)
-Thunder (died shielding the other Joes from oncoming bullets)
-Crankcase (died shielding the other Joes from oncoming bullets)
-Heavy Metal (died shielding the other Joes from oncoming bullets)
-Quick Kick (died when pursuing Cobra troops lead by SAW Viper blew up the Joes’ getaway vehicle)
-Breaker (died when pursuing Cobra troops lead by SAW Viper blew up the Joes’ getaway vehicle)
-Crazy Legs (died when pursuing Cobra troops lead by SAW Viper blew up the Joes’ getaway vehicle)

-Duke (Survived the mission when Cobra Commander called off the chase)
-Lt. Falcon (Survived the mission when Cobra Commander called off the chase)
-Cross Country (Survived the mission when Cobra Commander called off the chase)

Casualties of War

I originally decided to grab only the baggie version, but I gave in and bought the box separately later on (it’s still in the US with the rest of the ‘Con stuff).
