Marvel Legends X-men Magneto, Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch 3pack

The set was released as an Amazon Exclusive, hence the other brown shipper box. It was later made available at retail here in Manila, minus the brown shipper box.

Quicksilver

The son of Erik Lehnsherr (aka Magneto) and Magda, a Sinti (a person Romani descent), Pietro Maximoff is the mutant known as Quicksilver and possess superhuman speed and thought.

Originally joining Magneto’s Brotherhood of Evil Mutants with his twin sister Wanda, the Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver battles the superhero team known as the X-men. The twins later learn the error of their ways and join the superhero group, the Avengers.

Quicksilver later is told of his true origins and that he and Wanda are the long lost children of Magneto. They reject this and continue their lives as heroes, fighting their misguided father on several occasions.

After being exposed to the High Evolutionary’s Isotope E, Pietro’s mutant superspeed powers are augmented to the point where he can run up to Mach 10, resist the effects of friction and even heal rapidly.

Funfact, Pietro’s middle name is Django.

It is later revealed that Pietro was actually a normal child and not a mutant, and that his powers were induced by the being known as the High Evolutionary who experimented on him.

Magneto

Born Max Eisenhardt, he later adopted the name Erik Lehnsherr while searching for his lost wife, Magda, after she left him when he released his powers on an angry mob. He would later form his own group called the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants to protect mutants through the use of deadly force.

Magneto is the master of Magnetism, able to create magnetic fields that can crush metal objects, and even generate force fields around himself.

As a villain, Magneto often fought with the X-men, while the latter wanted mutants to co-exist with humanity, the former wanted peace through forceful means and even sought to enslave humanity in the name mutantkind.

Using his control of magnetic fields, Magneto can even levitate and fly.

At one point, Magneto even manages to rip out the Adamantium Metal from Wolverine’s bones, nearly killing the X-man and resulting in Charles Xavier wiping Magneto’s mind in anger, later leading the creation of the entity known as Onslaught, a creature born from the melding of both Magneto and Xavier’s dark sides.

Gosh, I still recall the first time I encountered Magneto, I was around 8 years old and it was when he appeared in a Fantastic Four animated episode from 1978, lol… he wasn’t even declared as a mutant there and his grand ambition was to rob a bank, later being foiled by Reed Richards and a wooden gun. Hah! Classic!

Scarlet Witch

Wanda Maximoff is the daughter of Magneto and twin sister of Quicksilver, her mutant powers allow her to become receptive to magic and allow her to manipulate reality and probability to her will.

The figure comes with effects parts different from her previous figure release.

Aside from reality manipulation, it has been shown that Scarlet Witch can also manipulate energy, matter and even time.

This costume is more in line with her modern look.

In the latest retcon in the 2010s, Marvel decided to alter the fact that the twins were the children of Magneto (as revealed in the pages of the AXIS storyline, the twins don’t even share Magneto’s bloodline ) and that they weren’t even really mutants, but products of experimentation by the High Evolutionary, then misled to believe Magneto is their biological father when he actually wasn’t. Sigh… I guess this was so the duo could be added into the Marvel Cinematic Universe with going into the mutant thing, eh? Oh, well, who knows, maybe down the line they’ll retcon the retcon and change things back someday?
