Transformers Generation Selects Star Convoy
Optional sticker sheets for the trailer. I figured I won’t likely be posing this guy in truck mode anyway so I guess these are staying on the sheet.
Rifle can be equipped on the trailer mode.
A heavy retool of the Power of the Primes Leader Class Optimus Prime, The front cab becomes Optimus Prime instead of Orion Pax.
Same as with the POTP figure, Prime’s rifle can be split into two blasters.
Combined rifle mode (Ion Blaster)
Star Convoy
Based on the return of Optimus Prime in the Transformers Battlestars Manga (which continues the story of the original Transformers saga after the cartoons long ended), the original Optimus Prime is brought back to life thanks to the power of the ancient Zodiac artifact, first seen in the TF Zone Anime and manga.
Resurrected and more powerful than ever, Optimus Prime joins with the Battlestars to fight Dark Nova, an evil Nebulon mad with power.
It’s a bit tricky to get the star-shaped chest piece to lock down on his chest, it tends to pop off easily. You’ll know you got it right when you heard a loud click when the piece locks in.
Shoulder Cannons
Silver Matrix – unlike the Hasbro Matrixes from the Power of the Primes line, this version cannot accommodate Prime Masters into it’s cavity.
Big Bang Cannon
Formed by attaching the Matrix of Leadership to the Ion Blaster, this serves as Star Convoy’s most powerful weapon.
To remove Optimus from the Trailer armor, remember to push down on this tab to release him (just like how it was on the Power of the Primes Optimus Prime).
With the LG-EX Dai Atlas (with Shockwave Lab Third Party leg filler parts).
In the Battlestars Manga, for whatever reason, Dai Atlas steps away from the role of Supreme Commander and appoints Sky Garry as the new temporary Supreme Commander and tasks him with using the power of the ancient Zodiac artifact to find and revive the long dead Optimus Prime, whom Dai Atlas believes is the only being strong enough to stop Dark Nova.
Comparison with Power of the Primes Optimus Prime
I really wonder if we will see Super Megatron toy down the line to go up against this guy? Back when they released the Battlestars toyline in 1991, the line was exclusively all Autobots. Not a single Decepticon figure was included in the lineup since the toyline was already at its twilight and Takara was afraid villain toys wouldn’t sell.
