S.H. Figuarts Detective Conan Conan Edogawa
Detective Conan (“Case Closed” in the U.S.A.) tells the story of teen genius detective Shinichi Kudo (Jimmy Kudo in the English translated Manga) who encounters the criminal organization called the Black Organization. Their initial encounter results in Shinichi being captured and forced to take an experimental poison, which, instead of finishing him off, transforms him into a child. Adopting the pseudonym Conan Edogawa, Shinichi tries to find more information about the Black Organization.
Despite having the body of a child, Shinichi retains all of his intellect and solves episodic cases by incapacitating bumbling private investigator Kogoro Mori (Richard Moore) and assuming his identity to expose the true culprits behind the crime. With Mori later reaping all the fame and benefits of solving the case while talking in his “sleep”.
Conan stands roughly 3.75″ tall.

Conan has some gadgets at his disposal to help him with his cases, all invented by his old friend Dr. Agasa (named after famous mystery novel writer Agatha Christie). One of which is his belt buckle, which can produce an instant inflatable soccer ball.
The set comes with an alternate “kicked” ball.
You will have to provide your own Soul Stage Act to get this pose done, as the set does not come with any Soul Stages.
Another one of Conan’s gadgets is his stun gun wristwatch, which can fire darts that can incapacitate the target.
More often than not, he uses the stun darts to knock out poor Kogoro Mori…
Conan then uses his bow tie voice changer to reproduce Mori’s voice and explain the solution to the case.

Impressively, Detective Conan has been on the air for a VERY long time. Airing since 1996, with an outrageous 974 episode count (as of this writing) and still going strong, it doesn’t look like the series will be wrapping up anytime soon. Although series creator Gosho Aoyama has already mentioned back in 2007 that he already has an idea on how to properly end the series.
I’ve been following Gosho Aoyama’s Case Closed for quite some time, collecting all of the English translated Manga from Viz Media (it’s actually the only Manga I read monthly), so this figure was a real treat for me. I originally skipped on the earlier Figma “True Criminal” figure that came with a Conan Edogawa “accessory” since I found that Conan figure a bit underwhelming. This one really beats it by a mile.
