Marvel Legends John Walker Captain America
Introduced in the Disney+ TV series “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier”, John Walker is a decorated US Marine who is given the mantle of “Captain America” after Steve Rogers “retires” following the events of “Avengers: Endgame”.
While Walker is highly trained, he initially does not have the Super Soldier serum that gave Steve his increased strength and endurance.
Hmm.. his flag patch is grayed out. Is this acceptable?
Unlike Steve Rogers, this Captain America is packing heat. Too bad his gun cannot be removed from its holster.
The shield design is still the old “foldable clip and peg” style that we’ve gotten for most of the Hasbro Marvel Legends Captain Americas.
The shield pegs onto Cap’s back.
As cool as this pose is, I wish the set included extra hands. It only gets the default hands that come plugged with the figure. No solid “fists” or open hands, or even “saluting” hands.
“When Captain America throws his mighty shield…”
I’m really happy that the awkward right hand can actually hold the shield like this.
The set comes with an unmasked John Walker head.
The likeness of actor Wyatt Russell is really uncanny. Nicely done, Hasbro
The amount of hate Russell received after the show aired was really unfair. The guy was an actor playing the role of an antagonist, unfortunately, some folks couldn’t distinguish fiction from reality and even sent threats to the poor guy.
Overall, I love this figure. Most folks may not like John Walker as a character, but tooling-wise, Hasbro did this figure right (lack of extra hands aside). I do wish it came with a removable sidearm pistol, but it is what it is.
