S.H. Figuarts Super Saiyan Trunks (Boy From the Future)
Hailing from the future timeline where Dr. Gero of the Red Ribbon Army creates Androids that kill all of the Z Warriors and decimates humanity, Bulma’s son Trunks travels back in time to warn the heroes of the impending threat.
The figure features all new tooling for Trunks. Featuring a larger body frame and better sculpting details and joints.

Compared to the previous release, Trunks is much, much bigger.
Sigh… the line break in the collar of his jacket is just too visible. Not a good execution here IMHO.
This figure actually has some QC control issues, such as the left arm popping free. It happens about 30% of the time when you’re posing the figure.
Also, the new joint system for the hips tend to wobble a bit. It’s not the usual tightness we get with S.H. Figuarts joints.
Trunks comes with an alternate, “base form” head.
Naturally, Trunks comes with his sword. Figuring out which end of the strap goes where is a bit tricky at first though.
Remember to remove the sword’s pommel before inserting any fists into the handle.
Trunks comes with various facial expressions. This one has him looking to the right.
In the series, it’s never really explained how Trunks gets his sword in the future timeline. It was sort of explained in the movie “Wrath of the Dragon”, but the movies aren’t considered part of the main DBZ canon.

Burning Attack!
Overall, not bad, but not the best. The figure looks really good and easily recreates scenes from the Anime thanks to the new joints overall design. Unfortunately, while the facial expressions and accessories are up to S.H. Figuarts par, the quality control has really dipped.
There’s also the issue of this version of Trunks being much, much bigger than the original. I guess you can make it represent Trunks at the end of the Cell Saga, where he’s aged up from training with Vegeta in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber? But he seems too big now somehow. I kinda wish they included his “long haired” head as an optional piece to make the bigger buck work.
