G.i. Joe Classified # 119 Cobra Scout & Cobra Ferret ATV

The little baggie in the foot locker comes with all the extra parts for the Ferret. Nothing for the Scout here, unfortunately.

Cobra Scout

A new concept character introduced for the G.i. Joe Classified line. The Cobra Scout uses the Ferret ATV to quickly map out enemy positions as well as launch quick “snatch and grab” strikes on vulnerable targets.

Interestingly, they made the Cobra Scout female. Pretty cool.

The scout comes with two pistols for her main weapons. The sidearms can be holstered on the left side of her belt and right thigh.

Naturally, for safety reasons, she comes with biker’s helmet. ‘Coz Cobra cares.

Her last accessory is her knife, which can be sheathed on her left lower leg.

Cobra Ferret ATV

A four-wheeled, all-terrain attack vehicle, the Ferret is Cobra’s primary vehicle for launching lighting strikes on G.i. Joe outposts, due to its rapid speed and high manuverability on almost any terrain.

Some assembly is required for the vehicle. Do note that the tires attach ONE TIME ONLY. Meaning, they can’t be removed and returned to the box once fully plugged in. One can opt to not fully plug the tires all the way in and it still works fine as a display, thankfully. That’s what I did in this review.

Also, do note that the tires have specific orientation based on the manual. In case you do mess up and don’t have the tires all facing the same direction, simply remove the tires from the rims and reposition. It’s doable albeit somewhat annoying.

Beautiful sculpt and paint details on the Cobra Ferret.

The vehicle features a winch, but unfortunately, it’s sculpted in place and doesn’t really function.

With the Cobra Scout

In the early seasons of the Sunbow G.i. Joe A Real American Hero cartoons, the Ferrets were the “go-to” vehicles used by Cobra’s operatives like the Dreadnoks and Crimson Twins.

Unlike with the vintage toy, the Side-slug Electric CMF-1 10 Round Launcher Cannon can now be repositioned since it’s now mounted on two separate joints.

If all else fails, the Cobra Scout can pick up the Side-slug Electric CMF-1 10 Round Launcher Cannon and manually fire at her targets, I suppose.

Overall, pretty good. It’s great that we’re getting more vehicles for the Classified line and it is a great modern take on a Cobra classic. However, I do wish it didn’t come with a figure, even if it’s a concept one, to keep the costs down.

It’s also a bit unfortunate that the only way to get this is through Hasbro Pulse, which makes it even more expensive for most folks outside of the USA. As a result, I decided to grab just one Ferret instead of getting more because of the overall cost.
