S.H. Figuarts Bond Forger with Anya
Anya Forger
A child with unique psychic abilities that allow her to read people’s thoughts, Anya uses her gift to help her father with his “mission” to save the country from the brink of war.
The figure is generally a reuse of the previously released Anya, but with a modified skirt to allow her to sit down properly.
Her face and hair can be removed so you can swap in the other facial expressions from the previously released Anya figures.
Bond Forger
The family pet. Heroic and gentle, Bond can actually see a few minutes into the future, thanks to being previously experimented upon by rogue elements. Only Anya realizes this ability thanks to her being able to read minds. The duo works together to help their family to save the day on more than one occasion.
Bond gets his name from Anya’s favorite Anime, “Spy Wars”, whose main protagonist, Bondman, is a heroic spy who always wears gloves. Bond’s dark feet remind Anya of Bondman’s gloves, hence the name.
Bond’s front feet feature some ankle articulation.
While his hind feet don’t
Thanks to some really clever neck articulation, Bond’s head can raise really high up. This is particularly helpful when posing him in a sitting position.
Bond can open and close his jaw.
“Worf!”
To properly balance Bond while he’s carrying Anya while “running”, it’s best to use the display base to prop him up to prevent shelf dives.
Just like in the Anime, Anya can ride on Bond, thanks to the dog’s big size. Unfortunately, Bond has horrible sense of direction, so they usually just end up going around in circles.
She comes with extra “pointing” hands to show Bond where to go…. Sorta (lol) …
To position Bond sitting, you’ll have to take out his lower legs and plug in the sitting leg pieces for the proper look.
The duo look really cute, even just sitting together.
With this release, we finally have the Forger Family complete!
Overall, a pretty good set. I can see why Bandai decided to bundle Anya with Bond here, since it’s unlikely Bond will sell by himself. The alternative would’ve been to make solo Bond a P-Bandai exclusive and that would really upset a lot of people, I think.
