Soul of Chogokin Gx-76X3 Grendizer D.C. Corresponding spacer full set
Lol… Bandai couldn’t be bothered to take new photos of the Spazers with the Gx-76SP for the packaging?
Together with the Gx-76SP set.

Display base
You will have to use the attachments to attach the Spazers into position.
The Gx-76X2 display base combines with the Gx-76 (and Gx-76SP) display base.

You will need this little block for the Spazer to “land” on.
You will also have to swap out parts on the bottom of the Spazer to get it to peg onto the display base.

Sadly, the TFO does not have its own attachment and has to share with same post with the Double Spazer Alternately, you can opt to leave it sitting on the corner of the platform.

To pose Grendizer with the Spazers onto the display base, you’ll need this cradle attachment.
The main display base is on a ratchet joint and can be tilted tilt left and right, so one can get more dynamic poses out of the main Spazer.
Spazer
Grendizer’s original means of flight prior to the addition of newer Spazers piloted by his allies. The Spazer is capable of lightspeed travel and boasts a variety of attacks. When Grendizer is separated from the Spazer, Duke Fleed is still able to remotely control the Spazer to assist Grendizer in attacking its opponents.
Impressive pearl paint finish on the Spazer.

Getting the Grendizer into the Spazer requires opening up a LOT of panels and hatches.

Lol… terrible placement for the copyrights IMHO. This was not here back in the original release of the Gx-76X2 Spazer set.
When sliding the front blue panels to the back, make sure you flip out these fins out first, as they will cause resistance when you push the blue panels backwards. You’re supposed to flip these red fins out anyways since that’s what happens in the Anime when Grendizer docks with the Spazers (the red fins sprout out of the Spazer).

The torso protector (right side, the one with painted parts) prevents sliding and paint scrapping of Grendizer while inside the Spazer. It also provides a rail system of sorts so you can easily “eject” Grendizer out without incident.

To remove the torso protector, this is what the split half should look like, the tab should be on Grendizer’s left side.
It’s hard to push the halves open even when using the tab. Alternately, you can also pry the connection loose by lifting the thigh parts upwards until the connection in the back splits open. It’s faster to do this but I don’t really recommend doing this often as it’s still clear plastic that you’re exerting force on.
Lastly, to complete the look, you will need to place some parts into the Spazer to cover up Grendizer’s backside.

Spazer Cross!

Mounted on the display base

Same as the previous release, some parts swapping is required when it comes to the weapons on the Spazer.

Spin Drills
To get the weaponized saucers to line up right, just slot them into these grooves.

Chute in! Dizer go!

TFO
After retiring Mazinger Z, Koji Kabuto builds his own little ship for studying UFO phenomenon up close while in the U.S.. While mainly a scientific scouting vessel, the TFO is eventually armed with a missile launcher that can fire LOTs of missiles at an enemy.

Double Spazer
Koji got shot down a lot of times in the TFO, he eventually upgraded. First to the JFO (Japanese Flying Object) a triangular ship that still got shot down a lot (again) in the manga (it only briefly appeared in the Anime, in episode 30), before he finally upgraded to the sleeker Double Spazer. As to why he didn’t just go get Mazinger Z instead is just pure lunacy for me.

Double Cutter

The Double Spazer’s other armaments include
-Cyclone Beam – 300,000-volt energy beams fired from the wings
-Double Missile- The Double Spazer carries up to 25 missiles
The Double Spazer is powered by a Photonic Energy reactor and can travel at a max speed of Mach 4 (the Spazer can go up to Mach 9). The vehicle first appeared in episode 35. First time combining (in dramatic fashion) in episode 36.
To get the wings to fold up or down, it is recommended you pull the wings to the side out first to give it some allowance to move, otherwise, there’s going to be some plastic-on-plastic friction.

To enable the Double Spazer to attach to Grendizer you have to do some parts swapping.

“Attachment On!”
“Scramble Turn! Combination Cross!”

Thanks to the Double Spazer, Grendizer is now able to fly while in battle, without relying on the original Spazer. Apart from allowing Grendizer to use more of its weapons while airborne, the additional weaponry and firepower of the Double Spazer greatly augments Grendizer’s attack power as well.

Marine Spazer
Piloted by Hikaru Makiba, Duke’s love interest in the series, the Marine Spazer allows Grendizer to fight underwater without losing mobility and speed.
The Marine Spazers armaments include
-Marine Cutter
-Marine Missiles – can carry up to payload of 25 missiles.
-Marine Beam
-Chain Anchor – can fire 2 chains for capturing and towing opponents
The Marine Spazer can travel at a maximum speed of 40 knots under water. The Marine Spazer appeared briefly as a teaser in episode 40, then fully appearing and combining with Grendizer in episode 41.
“Scramble Turn! Combination Cross!”

Drill Spazer
Piloted by Duke’s lost younger sister Maria Fleed, the Drill Spazer gives Grendizer assistance when it needs to travel or move underground below the surface.
Same as with the previous release, not only are the tank treads now just plastic, they don’t even roll. A pity this was not redone for this release.
The Drill Spazers armaments include
-Drill Missiles
-Spark Bomber – an energy projectile fired from the dorsal fin of the machine
-Drill Beam – energy projectiles fired from the tip of the main drills
The Drill Spazer first appeared in episode 45, originally piloted by Koji and combined for the first time in the same episode. The series intro and closing credits were changed once Maria Fleed was introduced into the show starting episode 49, now showcasing all the Spazers with their respective pilots together in the opening credits. Maria Fleed took over as pilot for the Drill Spazer starting episode 51.
Drill Missiles.
The center of the Drill Spazer can split apart to allow Grendizer to fit in easier.

The Good
-The weigh in:
–Spazer weighs 291 grams
–Double Spazer weighs 31 grams.
–Marine Spazer weighs 36 grams
–Drill Spazer weighs 95 grams.
-Good sculpting details and is very show accurate in terms of looks, more than the original Gx-04S versions
-Spazer is beautifully painted.
-Grendizer no longer needs to “shrink” its legs to fit into the main saucer.
-Clever engineering with regards to the opening hatches on the Spazer.
-“Rail” gimmick for a smooth Grendizer launch from the main Spazer is still pretty cool.
The Bad
-Pretty much a copy paste of the previous Spazer releases, just bundled together into one set without any improvements.
-Zero diecast parts!
-Some clear parts on the TFO would’ve been nice.
-Some parts swapping is required to fully mount Grendizer into the main Spazer as well as the Double Spazer.
-Drill Spazer treads are still just molded plastic.
-Drill Spazer treads do not roll.
-Grendizer’s forearms need to be removed before you can plug him into the Drill Spazer.
-No firing gimmicks, but I guess we all expected that at this point.
-The whole set is very pricey due to it being a Tamashii Web Exclusive.
The Ugly
No real QC issues here for me. I just wish they improved in some areas that were lacking in the original Gx-76x releases.
Overall, same old, same old. No new improvements or bonuses have been made on the Spazer units.
As with other Spazer sets, the biggest complaint for me here still is that this set is all plastic without a trace of diecast anywhere. Since it’s supposed to be under a “Chogokin” line, that’s a big spot of disappointment right there. While I guess this is a great second chance for folks who missed out on the previous Spazer releases, if you already have this set and aren’t completing the entire Soul of Chogokin line (like I am), then you can easily give this set a skip.
