G.i. Joe Classified #124 Kim “Jinx” Arashikage

A ranking member of the secretive ninja clan, the Arashikage, Jinx (her real name is listed as TOP SECRET) trained with the clan’s “Blind Master” and is an expert in various types of hand-to-hand combat.

A running gag in the 1987 movie where Jinx first appears is that Jinx tends to bring bad luck to folks around her

The figure takes some liberties with Jinx’s classic look, even adding in a tattoo on her right arm. I’m not sure if this fit well with most fans of the toyline.

The headsculpt is fairly decent, I guess. I wish Hasbro captured her look better from the 1987 movie. Maybe it’s the hair.

It’s a shame Hasbro only gave us spare fists for Jinx, she could’ve really used some alternate open palms or Kung Fu pose hands.

Of course, anyone who has seen the 1987 movie will know that Jinx is at her fighting best when she is blindfolded, thanks to the training she received from the Blind Master (offscreen). A blindfold piece is included with the set.

For “ninja mode”, Jinx has an alternate head we can swap on to recreate her classic toy look.

She comes with her sword, complete with sheath. Too bad she doesn’t come with a proper backpack based on her classic figure.

Lastly, Jinx comes with her iconic Naginata weapon.

Overall, not bad, but somehow it doesn’t feel like Hasbro’s best effort with this figure. The unmasked headsculpt seems off somehow. Plus, I gotta say, I wish they gave us her original costume look, as opposed to the new tattooed right arm design. At least she comes with a lot of weapons.

I wonder if Hasbro will give us a better “classic” Jinx if she ever makes it to the Retro Carded Joe Classified line?

Jinx’s oddball codename on pre-orders was Pebbles, from the Hanna-Barbera Flintstones cartoons.
