G.i. Joe Classified #151 Trench Viper & Cobra Modular Fortification

The set comes with baggies full of accessories, here’s what each has.

Trench-viper

Trench-vipers are sent to man outpost installations along vital Cobra defense lines. Heavily armored and armed, Trench-vipers are some of the toughest sentries around.

The Trench-viper is a redeco of the Cobra Alley Viper, minus the leg armor.

Job description on his left shoulder. Lol…

His face plate opens up.

The figure still comes with two knives. One goes into the vest, while the other is sheathed on his wrist.

The Trench-viper also comes with a sidearm on his right thigh.

Lastly, the Trench-viper comes with a Cobra riot shield.

Like the Alley Viper, his shield comes with some printed detailing on the inner surface.

Cobra Modular Fortification

A really cool Cobra Logo on the right side of the structure. Too bad there are no Cobra markings on the front of the unit.

Lol… proudly “Cobra made”.

There’re also markings on the inside wall of the structure.

Weapons rack. It’s a shame there aren’t any weapons that come with the set to be mounted here. You’ll have to provide your own.

Removable comms dish and spotlight up on the roof.

The set offers extra connectors so you can link several Cobra Modular Fortifications together if you choose to.

The blue connector pins go into the ladder ends to allow for connections to the extra ladder.

The set comes with two posts. You can opt to mount the spot light on one of them.

To mount the .50 Caliber machine gun, you will need these adapters.

The post is actually extendable so you can adjust the height of the gun. It’s a bit tough to pull out so usually you end up disassembling the post to adjust the height.

The whole thing can be posted onto the peg on the inside of the CMF to hold it in place.

I think the sandbags are probably my favorite part of this set.

The .50 Cal also has an optional handle so the Trench-viper can carry the thing into battle if he decides to.

All together

The Trench-viper looks good even when just kneeling on the roof.

Lol… I think for most folks, they’ll probably think of a portapotty when they do see this set without the sandbags.

Lastly, you can open up the set to make it look wider if you’ve got the space for it.

Overall, pretty cool. I love the little details and texturing on the structure. It would’ve really gone a different way if it didn’t have the texturing. The sandbags add a lot of depth to the set too.

The only downsides are the lack of weapons for the weapons rack, plus how easily the posts come apart when you try to extend them.

The price is also a bit on the high side too, as this is a Pulse website exclusive, which is a bit of a downer. I think this set would’ve been terrific if the price was a bit lower and sold more accessibly so folks can have more build options.

Hasbro’s oddball internal codename for pre-orders for Trench Viper & Cobra Modular Fortification is TT Terror. The set was released as a Hasbro Pulse website exclusive.
