Marvel Legends Secret Wars Beyonder

The Beyonder is a cosmic being that can destroy and recreate the universe as he so chooses. Previously gathering the Earth’s heroes and villains together in order to do battle on a planet he created called “Battleworld” to see who would triump, good or evil, the Beyonder next decides to become human in order to understand what humans are and what is the concept called “desire”.

This figure is based on the Beyonder’s appearance in the Secret Wars II storyline.

I guess the Beyonder’s headsculpt is pretty OK. His appearance kinda reminds me of a generic TV and movie star from the 1980s, but I think that was the point.

For accessories, he comes with a spare pair of hands.

He also has a small reproduction of Battleworld (the world that he created) that he can hold in his hands.

Lastly, as he is part of the Secret Wars subline, he, too, comes with a shield with swappable card inserts.

The clip system is similar to Captain America’s shield.

Overall, very unimpressive.

To be fair, the Beyonder’s civilian appearance was never really all that interesting to begin with when he came out in Secret Wars II. I just wish Hasbro included some better accessories to go with this guy, or even go with his chromed-costume look to make him look more like a supervillain than this bland-looking action figure. I just got him to round out the characters in the Marvel Legends line and I’m glad I waited for it to go on sale before picking him up. No way was this guy worth the full SRP.
