Constructicons, merge for the kill!

DEVASTATOR

The powerful combined form of all six Constructicons, Devastator’s is the Decepticon army’s most lethal weapon. It’s mind warped by the merging of six different identities, it can only focus on rage and destruction unless given specific instructions on the battlefield.

Fully assembled, Devastator stands roughly 13 inches tall.

I really wish the engineers made this tow hook for Long Haul collapsible. It sticks out like an odd tailbone on Devastator.

The connections are really solid this time around for the knees.

Unfortunately, the knees do look very awkward when you stare at it straight on.

Devastator’s elbows don’t go up to 90 degrees, sadly.

Speaking of elbows, expect the left elbow to fall off often. Sigh..

When combined, you can post all of the Constructicon team’s weapons on Devastator. Pretty nifty.

Thanks to the design, Devastator now has ankle joints. I still don’t see how this justifies making Scrapper and Mixmaster into Voyager Class figures though…

The connection for the chest piece is pretty good and solid this time around.

Devastator looks really good when fully combined. Very cartoon accurate.

Naturally, he comes with his Solar Energy Beam Rifle, capable of reaching temperatures of up to 10,000 degrees Celsius.

Overall, I like it. It’s definitely more show-accurate and scales better against the other gestalts in the toyline. While the Titan Class version from Combiner Wars still looks super cool (especially when next up against Omega Supreme). I always found it too big next to the other Combiners and its left leg (Mixmaster) was just too off-animation model.

The biggest negative side here is that this whole set costs a bit more than the Combiner Wars Titan Class version. What with two of the figures now being Voyager Class and the other two being priced as Commander Class 2-pack, it seems like price gouging IMHO.

Still, it’s a pretty darn amazing figure in all modes. Kudos to the design team.
