Marvel Legends Starfox and Champion of the Universe
Starfox
As one from the race known as the Eternals, Eros is better known by his codename, Starfox. Gifted with the power to stimulate the pleasure centers of people’s brains and control their emotions and actions, Starfox prefers to live a carefree, hedonistic life, traveling the stars in search of romance and adventure.
I really love that the sculpting team totally captured Starfox’s smarmy grin for this figure.
Aside from his ability to control people, he can also fly, possesses superhuman strength and durability and is essentially immortal thanks to his powerful healing factor.
Starfox has been known to have a “relationship” with She-Hulk in the past.
Eros is also the brother of the mad Titan, Thanos.
Champion of the Universe
Tryco Slatterus is one of the Alien Elders of the Marvel Universe. Billions of years old, he has only one purpose in life, to be the greatest warrior in the universe. He prefers fighting only the strongest in order to further sharpen his skills in combat.
Champion here stands roughly 8.25 inches tall. Despite his height, the figure surprisingly does feel light and hollow for me.
The Champion controls an ancient energy called the Power Primordial, which is supposedly leftover energy from the cosmic “Big Bang” that created the universe.
Over the eons, the Champion has learned thousands of different forms of martial arts styles from various alien worlds he’s visited.
The Champion of the Universe spent eons focusing and mastering the Power Primordial to only boost his physical strength. However, this resulted in him losing the ability to wield any of the other powers usual Elders have, such as projecting and manipulating energy or even just simple flight.
Overall, pretty OK. The sculpts and details are all good, but this set really lacks accessories. It’s a shame Hasbro didn’t include anything to go with these guys outside of extra fists. Sigh…
Admittedly, I’m not really a big fan of either character, as I’ve never really been a fan of the cosmic component of the Marvel Comics sagas. I just picked this up as both are never-before-done characters in the Marvel Legends line, plus this set briefly went on clearance prices locally, before going back up to full SRP.
