G.i. Joe 1980s Mean Dog (Funskool Ver. )
For the unfamiliar, Funskool is an India based company that reproduces old school GiJoe figures and vehicles. Although generally the colors are a little different than the US counterparts (eg. Orange missiles on a grey Skystriker jet). The Mean Dog is surprisingly close to it’s original Hasbro version colors with only a darker shade of brown for the plastic.
The Funskool vehicles also come with a random Gijoe figure, in my case it was a non-completely painted Big Boa figure.
The vehicle spans roughly 16 inches in length.
Front seat holds 2 drivers.
The front section seperates into a stand alone vehicle (M.A.S.K. anyone?)
The mid-section holds missiles and seats one figure.
Some figures can also ride in the back. note that the foot pegs for the vintage ARAH are too big for the 25th Anniv figures.
Last but not least, the gun turret seperates into a stand alone outpost.
Overall a nice vehicle for the Joes, the only real drawbacks are the “feet” for the gun turret are useless, as they fall off without much effort, but it doesn’t affect the stability of the cannon and it can stand well without them. The second issue is the sticker sheet. It’s printed on orange paper instead of clear acetate. I guess I’ll have to wait for Cobrastickers.com to release a sticker sheet for it.
