G.i. Joe Classified # 114 Big Boa
The Cobra army’s main trainer. Big Boa pushes the extremes when it comes to physical discipline of Cobra’s troops. Getting the Vipers and troopers in tip-top shape is what he’s all about and there’s no room for mercy when it comes to what he puts the poor souls through.
I guess the figure reuses Gung Ho or Roadblock’s arms? It’s a shame they didn’t make new “pin-less” arms for this guy.
I never thought we would get an alternate unmasked head for this guy. Much like Croc Master, having his helmet always on was part of the alure of this character.
Still… I wish they made his face meaner. He eyes seem a bit too gentle?
It’s interesting to see him come with bloodied, non-gloved hands. Ouch.
For accessories, he doesn’t come with any real weapons, just dumbbells.
90-pound dumbbells?
“Ding! Ding! Let’s go!”
I really hope someone makes a Third-Party custom of Rocky Balboa to match up against this guy.
With the Cobra logo backdrop.
“I’m comin’ for ya, Balboa!”
Overall, pretty decent. Big Boa was one of the more popular Cobra characters that never got an animated appearance back in the day, but despite that, he still appealed to fans mainly because he was originally meant to be a foil to Rocky Balboa (yes, that Rocky, the boxer from the movies), who was meant to join the Joe team but, unfortunately, never happened due to licensing issues (Stallone went with making a Rambo animated series).
Still, I gotta say t’s good to have another Cobra “unique” character added to the Classified series.
Hasbro originally had an oddball codename for this figure in the preorder listings, it was supposed to be “Flintstone”(named after the family name of the character from the classic Hanna-Barbera cartoons, “The Flintstones”). It was not indicated on the shipper boxes though.
