G.i. Joe Classified #121 Night Creeper
Forging an alliance with Cobra Commander, this secretive group of high-tech ninja mercenaries stealthily gather field intelligence as well as perform espionage and sabotage operations at Cobra’s behest. Armed with the deadly stealth weapons and expertly-trained in several forms of combat, these operatives are incredibly dangerous. Only the skilled members of G.I. Joe team’s Ninja Force can take these Cobra agents head-on.
Originally, I was worried that the shade of purple (pink?) on this figure was going to be too bright. Having it in hand, it doesn’t seem that way at all, thankfully.
The Night Creeper comes with a pair of small, curved knives that can be sheathed onto the sides of his belt.
The set provides an alternate head based on the versions 2 and 3 of the vintage Night Creeper figure designs.
The Night Creeper comes with an alternate right hand with a gripping claw for scaling walls.
It can also double as a karate chopping hand.
There’s also an alternate left hand with a sculpted-in throwing star.
Similar to the vintage figure, the Night Creeper comes with two different swords, the kris sword and the barbed sword.
Kris sword – The kris sword is recognized by its distinctive wavy, asymmetrical blade. The sword’s design originated from Indonesia, going back as early as the tenth century.

Lastly, the Night Creeper comes with a crossbow for silent ranged attacks.
Thankfully, a removable arrow is included with the weapon.
The arrow can be stored on the backpack as well.
All of the Night Creeper’s gear can be stowed away on his backpack.
Overall, I love it! These were THE definitive Cobra ninjas for me back in the day! These Cobras seemed like the types to finally (maybe?) give Snake Eyes and the Ninja Joes a real challenge, at least in my mind. I am super happy to have these in my collection and I am doubly glad I passed on the goofy Red Ninjas from the early days Classified wave (I really disliked the designs on those figures, particularly the silly skirts). The Night Creepers also come with lots of gear that pays homage to the classic figure.
The Night Creeper’s oddball codename on pre-orders was “Astro”, as a reference to the talking pet dog from Hanna Barbera’s “The Jetson’s”. Unlike previous releases, the codename was not indicated on the shipper box for the figure when it was finally released.
