G.i. Joe Classified #140 Nemesis Immortal

One of the strongest creatures in the kingdom of Cobra-la, Nemesis Enforcer (Nemesis Immortal) is said to be created by Golobulus from the remains of a pile of dead creatures to serve as the latter’s personal bodyguard. Silent and never uttering a word, Nemesis Enforcer carries out his master’s missions with unyielding loyalty to Golobulus and Cobra-la.

Nemesis Enforcer stands roughly 7 inches tall.
Hmm… can’t say I’m a fan of the disproportionately tiny feet. I also kind of wish they went with the old animation models for his feet, instead of making them look very alien here.
The face sculpt on Nemesis Immortal really makes him look alien and menacing.
The figure features articulated wings.
Unfortunately, even with joints, the articulation on the wings are still somewhat limited. A part of me wishes it could open and close up just like in the cartoons.
In one scene in the 1987 movie, Nemesis Enforcer’s “leather” wings were so strong, they could be used as shielding from heavy laser fire from the Joe’s rifles.
With some help from a Third-party display base to help the figure “fly”.
In the G.i. Joe 1987 movie, Nemesis Enforcer’s forearm blades were strong enough to carve through several inches of steel.
But just in case the forearm blades weren’t enough, Hasbro decided to throw in some swords for Nemesis to swing around. Both swords can be sheathed on the sides of his legs.
The set comes with an alternate “helmeted” head for Nemesis Immortal.

Lastly, Nemesis comes with this alternate “tentacle backpack”. Which is a throwback to his vintage toy’s accessory. A bit useless and non-canonical, but still, an added accessory to the set is a welcome thing.

Overall, not bad, but feels somewhat lacking? I always loved the old animation model for Nemesis Enforcer from the 1987 movie and it feels like Hasbro took too many design liberties here for me to like this figure the way I should. The creepy alien face and feet doesn’t do it for me and I feel like the wings really could’ve been designed better in terms of joint placement and overall look IMHO.
On the other hand, I highly doubt we’ll be seeing this guy again in an improved form in this line, so this is by default “the best” Nemesis Enforcer figure we can hope for, it is what it is. Sigh…

Nemesis Immortal’s oddball codename when it first appeared on pre-orders is Atlas.
This set was released as Hasbro Pulse exclusive.
