G.i. Joe Classified # 162 S.N.A.K.E. (System: Neutralizer—Armed Kloaking Equipment)
Battle Suit

Designed by Destro to protect Cobra troopers that were deployed into the thickest of firefights and come out victorious and unscathed. The S.N.A.K.E. (System: Neutralizer—Armed Kloaking Equipment) armor is reinforced with heavy armor plating and armed with powerful weaponry capable of taking out tanks and a large number of enemy forces all by itself!

In the original vintage packaging (and on the Hasbro Pulse website), the SNAKE armor’s sensors are mentioned as being capable of brainwashing any captured Joes that were encased in the armor, making them think and act like Cobra agents.

The S.N.A.K.E. armor stands roughly 12 inches tall.

I love the detailing on the fuel tanks on the back of the mech.

As cool as the armor is, the articulation could’ve been a bit better. The legs don’t really spread apart much.

The same goes for the legs, there’s no mid-thigh cut, so the legs can’t rotate out sideways.

While there are a pair of hands, they aren’t articulated.

Opening c0ckpit hatch.

Very cool detailing for the access port/ front HUD screen.

It’s a shame this set doesn’t come with a figure. So I decided to use the Cobra Pilot from the C.L.A.W. set for scale.

The harness is a bit useless for her, as it doesn’t really strap the figure down all the way.

With the hatch closed up, you can’t really make out if anyone is inside. So there’s no real point in putting a figure inside IMHO.

Aside from the manipulator hands and claw, the SNAKE armor comes with various weapons, featuring this big gun, a (non-firing) missile and a huge flame thrower!

5.56 mm machine-gun arm with 300 rounds.

SCRAMJET rocket attachment.

Optional flame effects parts.

Overall, pretty good! While it’s not perfect, it does look really big and imposing for a battle mech, as opposed to the classic, simple, outer shell meant for a Cobra grunt. The lack of a driver is a bummer though. But I guess they had to keep costs down somehow. At least the set comes with several weapons options and effects parts to boot!
I would’ve loved to army build these guys, but its super expensive in my part of the world, as we can’t order directly from Hasbro Pulse. Sigh… man, this would’ve been so cool to army build.
Hasbro’s oddball internal codename for pre-orders for the S.N.A.K.E. Battle Suit is TT “American Maid”.
