G.i. Joe Classified Retro Carded Flint
Smart and tactical, Dashiell R. Faireborn is a Rhodes scholar who grew up undestanding that plan and strategies win battles. Showing capable leadership every step of the way, Flint is a natural leader and an inspiration to the other Joes.
In the G.i. Joe cartoon continuity, despite being only of Warrant Officer rank, Flint serves as the third in command for G.i. Joe, after General Hawk and Duke, respectively.
Flint’s headsculpt isn’t too bad, but he does look a little goofy from some angles, instead of the intended “cocky” look. I think I agree with most folks, the original Classified Flint head seems a lot better.
Alternately, some folks also used Starduster’s head for Flint. I haven’t tried it myself yet but I think that is a good suggestion.
Since Flint is often the one in charge in missions in later episodes, it’s only natural that the figure comes with a pointing hand for barking orders.
Flint comes with a backpack, though I have yet to actually ever see him use a backpack either in the comics or in the cartoons.
For firepower, Flint comes with his trusty sidearm.
For heavier weaponry, Flint comes with his iconic pump-action shotgun.
It was nice surprise to see they included two optional fists for Flint, so he can do the “Yo, Joe!” pose with either arm.
Overall, not too bad. The body is definitely an improvement over the “Fortnite” look of the earlier release, but the head sculpt seems like a step back for this guy from some angles. I guess they wanted him to look c0cky, but it just came out derpy. I guess I’ll have to try head swapping to get a proper Flint.
Headsculpt issues aside, the I love the new shotgun, plus the standard (?) inclusion now of optional solid “fists” is a good thing, as we can get the Joes to look like they’re actually punching Cobras and/or doing a “Yo, Joe!” battle cry.
