G.i. Joe Classified Retro Rock N’ Roll
Craig S. McConnel is the G.i. Joe team’s Machine Gunner and one of the Original Thirteen members of G.i. Joe. Loyal and honorable, Rock ‘n’ Roll can always be counted on to have the team’s back when on missions and will definitely stand his ground and hold the line when the going gets tough.
For some reason the headsculpt reminds me of late actor Charlton Heston.
While his helmet does have a strap, you can’t really strap it into its proper place.
As the figure is a redeco of the previously released #71 Rock ‘n’ Roll, this version is based on the classic model, sans any tattoos.
His belt has holes for his radio and his ammo box.
“Roadblock, stop calling me about body massages!”
Rock ‘n’ Roll comes with a sidearm that can be holstered on his right thigh.
Naturally, he comes with a large machine gun.
Same as before, Rocky comes with a little ammo box for his big gun.
Alternately, you can feed the whole ammo belt into the machine gun. I forgot to take a pic, but you can also remove the tiny portion of the ammo belt from the ammo box and plug that into the gun as well.
As with the original set, Rock ‘n’ Roll comes with an alternate er… rock ‘n’ roll left hand.
Lastly, the set comes with a solid fist for this guy. I guess it’s pretty cool that he can “Yo, Joe!” fist pump.
Not bad at all. Now I kinda wish all the Joes had this fist accessory.
Overall, a pretty good set. I honestly prefer this over the #71 version of Rock ‘n’ Roll, as it will really blend in better with the “classic” look of the Original Thirteen once we have them all together.
Here’s hoping we get more Retro Carded characters in their original Sunbow Era patterns, since that’s what most of us are really going for in this line.
Hasbro’s oddball internal codename for pre-orders for Retro Cardback Rock N’ Roll is “Elmyra”, one of the antagonists from “Tiny Toons”.
