G.i. Joe Figure Subscription Service 8.0 Wave 4 Recoil & Overkill
Recoil
I’ve never been familiar with this guy, other than the fact that he looks really militaristic due to the camo on his uniform and that he appeared on the box cover for the G.i. Joe Battle Force 2000 Pulverizer, despite not being a part of the team. The figure reuses the head from 30th Anniversary Lifeline. I think this is actually one of my favorite figures in the Joe line, mainly because it looks so militaristic, and not too “Village People”.
He comes with a pistol that can be holstered on his right leg.
He also comes with a really high-tech looking weapon.
Rifle
Bolo
Backpack with comms gear and landmine carry-case, same as with the vintage version.
Overkill
Created using highly advanced processors and programs, Overkill was a shelved prototype for the next generation of Cobra BATs (Battle Android Troopers). But since the cost was mass produce them was too high, the project was shelved until Cobra Commander decided to salvage the prototype and made him field commander of the BATs.
From what I understand, his appearance here is based on the Devil’s Due comics (a former Cobra SAW-Viper named Robert Skelton turned cybord), while his backstory is based on the DIC cartoons? His articulation is a bit limited due to the shoulder molds and pads used.
Pistol
Clip on “claw” hands.
High-tech rifle
