WWII Logan

Based on Wolverine’s appearance when he was an American soldier fighting in the trenches during World War II. His adventures during this time would lead him to cross paths with Captain America, working alongside the first Avenger to stop Nazi threats.

Strategic Scientific Reserve or SSR, in the Marvel universe, this top-secret Allied Intelligence group served to combat Hydra during WWII. This was the predecessor to S.H.I.E.L.D.

Like all combat G.I., Logan comes with a combat knife which can be sheathed in his lower left leg. Unfortunately, it’s a bit tough to force the blade all the way in.

Logan also comes with a satchel. Standard gear for carrying first aid supplies or important documents during the war.

The set also includes a machine gun for G.i. Logan to use.

Naturally, Wolverine comes with an optional set of hands with his claws popped out.

Pretty sure this is all wrong though, Logan should only have bone claws and not Adamantium claws, since he wasn’t in the Weapon X project yet in the timeline…? The project only started after 1945.

Lastly the set gives us a helmet-less Logan head.

He does look quite young here. But supposedly, Logan has been around since before World War 1.

Iron Man Mark 72

Also known as the Mysterium Armor, this suit is a highly advanced, near-indestructible armor crafted by Tony Stark using Mysterium metal. Thanks to the properties of Mysterium, the suit can withstand damage from Adamantium, resists magic and is even invisible to Spider-man’s Spider Sense.

Apart from the suit’s formidable alloy, it also features the ability to generate and control magnetic fields, has holographic projectors, along with other several attack weaponries in the unit’s fingers and arms.

The figure can easily do the hero landing pose, no problem.

One of the suit’s most familiar attacks is the inclusion of forearm-mounted blasters. This is recreated here with swappable parts.

Too bad the Repulsor effects parts can’t be plugged into the blasters though. The burst effects are too big to fit.

Due to the limited poseability of the wrists due to the armor placement, this is the only way you can get Mark 72 to do Repulsor blasts.

It looks really awkward

I really love the colors of this suit.

The coolest purpose of the Mark 72 is to serve as the pilot unit for the Mark 73, the Sentinel Buster, a mountain-sized Iron Man Armor created with help from several allies to fight Orcus’ army of swiped Iron Man tech Sentinels.

Dark Avengers Spider-man

Ai Apaec, a South American spider-god, is recruited by Norman Osborn to be the Spider-man for his Dark Avengers team. Ai is given a genetic-modifying drug which greatly alters his appearance to look like the black-suit Spider-Man with four extra arms. Ai retains his speed, strength and web-spinning and wall-climbing abilities even in this form.

As cool as this figure looks, it’s too bad we only get only one pair of extra hands for this guy. I would’ve loved it if they gave him more hands, he’s certainly got the arms for them.

He does come with an optional head with smaller, more sinister-looking eyes though.

Werewolf by Night

A throwback to a classic Marvel Monster, Jack Russel is the Werewolf by Night. Inheriting his family bloodline’s curse, Jack can transform into a Werewolf at night, granting him superhuman strength and healing. He is only vulnerable to magic and silver.

Too bad the figure’s body doesn’t sport any butterfly shoulder joints.

The mouth is permanently open on this figure.

It’s also a shame we don’t get any extra hands for this guy.

Arooooooo..

Warbow

A close ally of king Crystar, Warbow is one of the Crystal Warriors, tasked with protecting his home world, alongside his king, from invaders.

Surprisingly, they gave this guy an optional closed right hand.

Warbow comes with his crossbow.

Sigh.. I passed on Marvel Legends Crystar from the Nameless One BAF wave, now guess I gotta go track one down..

Enchantress

Amora, one of the most powerful mages in all of Asgard, is one of Thor’s most dangerous enemies. She can use spells to cast energy bolts, teleport herself and others, control the minds of her targets and even absorb and opponent’s life force to revitalize herself. It is said she even enhances her natural stunning beauty even more by using her magic.

Her small feet and heels might make it difficult for her to pose at times.

Previously, the only way to get Enchantress was from the 2016 SDCC Raft set. This new figure sports an entirely new body and a new head with better proportions and details, making this version far more superior.

Enchantress from the 2016 Raft set.

Finally!!! We get new magic effects parts! It took Hasbro more than a decade to give us new parts!

Phantom Rider

Carter Slade, a regular schoolteacher in the Wild West, dons a mask in order to mete out justice at night as the first “Spirit of Vengeance”.

In the original 1967 comics, Carter was just an ordinary vigilante, nothing supernatural behind his story. A far cry from the more modern “Spirits of Vengeance” stories, which focuses heavily on Ghost Rider and his battle against demons.

His outfit and horse were given to him by Flaming Star, a Native American medicine man.

Naturally, the Phantom Rider comes with his iconic dual six-shooters. They can be holstered on the sides of his hips.

I’m trying to grab a horse for this guy, after searching online, it seems that the best economical fit would be the bootleg white horse from the Figma line (Figma #490). I think it’s available from AliExpress and/or Shopee for just under $20? There’s an entirely white variation, too. I might check that out.

Executioner

Skurge is an Asgardian who wields a mighty magic double-bladed battle axe. After falling in love with the Enchantress, he is often used as “the muscle” to her “brains” in her schemes.

As Skurge is half-Storm Giant in lineage, he is much stronger and more durable than the average Asgardian.

As a BAF, he stands roughly 7.5 inches tall.

Naturally, he comes with his big magic axe!

His axe is enchanted with magic, which allows him to “cut” rifts into other dimensions, as well as control any fire or ice nearby that he can throw as his opponents.

Currently, in the comics, Skurge is dead after sacrificing himself to save Thor and Balder from the wrath of Hela. His last act of heroism has earned Skurge great respect across Asgard. This all happened way back in 1985.

With his “boss”. Too bad she’s only using him to get what she wants.

For a time, the Executioner and Enchantress worked with the Masters of Evil after being exiled to Earth by Odin, they were recruited by Baron Zemo to serve as opponents to Thor.
