Marvel Legends S.H.I.E.L.D. 3-pack

Nick Fury Jr.
Dum Dum Dugan
Sharon Carter

Nick Fury Jr.

Marcus Johnson is the son of the original Nick Fury. After being targeted by Leviathan’s Orion for the Infinity Formula in his DNA, Johnson learns of his true heritage and joins his father as an operative in S.H.I.E.L.D. (Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division).

Nick Fury Jr. bears a strong resemblance to Nick Fury from the Ultimates Earth (Earth-1610).

Junior’s left eye was cut out by Orion to collect his DNA for the original Nick Fury’s Infinity Formula which keeps Nick young. Junior now wears an eyepatch similar to his father to cover up the damage.

This new SHIELD body features sculpted details on their gloves, such as comms gear.

The set includes a combat knife for Nick Fury Jr. Too bad it doesn’t have a place to sheath on the figure.

Fury’s pistol is permanently sculpted onto his webgear.

He has a holster on his right thigh which can hold one of his pistols.

The set provides two pistols for Junior, one of which has extended magazines.

Nick Jr. also has effects pieces for his guns. Smoke effects parts.

Firing effects parts

For heavier firepower, Marcus Johnson comes with an assault rifle.

The firing effects parts can also be plugged into the rifle.

Lastly, we get a “classic” Nick Fury head!

The headsculpt is brand new and not a reuse of the older Nick Fury head. Too bad we don’t get him chomping on his cigar like in the old days.

“Old” Nick also gets his iconic .15 caliber needle gun to complete his look.

Dum Dum Dugan

Timothy Aloysius Cadwallader “Dum Dum” Dugan is Nick Fury’s most trusted confidant and ally. Ever since WWII, when Nick was still just a Sergeant in the U.S. army, Dum Dum was always there serving as Nick’s second-in-command, even through the Vietnam War.

Dum Dum uses the same base body as Nick Fury Jr. but equipped with a different set of webgear.

Too bad his bowler hat isn’t removable.

It’s still not quite clear whether Dum Dum and the other Howling Commandos really got the same Infinity Formula as Nick Fury, which slows down aging, as there have been contradicting moments in the comic books through the decades.

Yep, definitely different webgear.

Dum Dum comes with exact same gear as Nick Fury Jr., with the exception of the Needle Gun.

I think this is probably the best we can hope for when it comes to completing the Howling Commandos team.

You can also opt to put the Nick Fury head onto the Dum Dum body.

Father and son.

Sharon Carter

Inspired by her aunt Peggy’s adventures as a freedom fighter working with Captain America in World War II, Sharon Carter joins S.H.I.E.LD. in the present day. Working as the SHIELD operative with the codename “Agent 13”, Sharon and Captain America eventually become romantically involved.

I can’t say I’m a fan of her all “glitzed up” look here. Not quite what I envision for a field operative, unless she’s working undercover or something.

I really, really dislike the odd choice to go with these “shoes”. I wish they went with all white instead.

She comes with a sidearm that can be holstered on her right thigh.

Her sidearm comes with a silencer sculpted on.

The set provides effects parts for Sharon as well. As opposed to Nick and Dum Dum, hers are colored yellow.

Aside from her sidearm, she also comes with a little pistol. unfortunately, there’s nowhere to holster this weapon on the figure.

Effects parts on both guns.

Like the other figures in this boxset, she comes with her own smoke effects parts for her guns, too.

Lastly, she comes with an alternate “bun hairstyle” head, complete with a more serious look.

Yeah, I’m not a fan of this face sculpt either. Still, it’s loads better than the original Sharon Carter figure we got from the Onslaught wave.

Yeah, we’ve come a long way from the old Onslaught Wave Sharon Carter, yes?

Overall, a pretty good set, albeit an expensive one. Unexpectedly, Hasbro gave us a lot of new tooling for this set (as opposed to just reusing the older S.H.I.E.L.D. agents buck and calling it a day) plus a LOT of accessories, which is a nice surprise. I’m glad to get updated figures of Dumdum, Nick (both of them) and Sharon. It’s been a while since Hasbro rolled out these characters and it’s way past time they got updates.

This set was released as a Hasbro Pulse exclusive.
