Marvel Legends The Prowler
Hobie Brown is recruited to be a criminal agent by the Kingpin. Donning a technologically advanced suit, Hobie becomes known as the Prowler!
Naturally, the new body uses pinless joints.
The set comes with an unmasked Hobie Brown head based on his look from the Animated series.
The Prowler is able to scale walls thanks to the steel-tipped fingers in his gauntlets.
Prowler’s cape contains a network of pneumatic filaments which expand with air to give it a rigid structure, allowing him to glide for short distances
Of course, the suit’s most dangerous ability are the various projectiles inside the cartridges of his gauntlets. including steel darts (“flechettes”), gas pellets, small explosives, magnesium flares and other various forms of projectiles.
The Prowler eventually learns the error of his ways and teams up with Spider-man to stop the Kingpin, finally allowing Hobie to remove his suit without triggering the self-destruct mechanism, which was holding him hostage to the whims of the Kingpin. Hobie opts to retire from crime and gives up the Prowler persona (in the cartoons anyways).
The figure’s a huge improvement to the older Prowler figure from 2018’s Lizard BAF wave.
Overall, a pretty good update from the older release. It still doesn’t come with much, but at least they included an unmasked head.
Good thing I decided to wait for this guy to go on clearance, as there isn’t really much demand for this character in most markets.
As usual, I just wish it came with more accessories or effects parts. Ah, well..
