Marvel Legends Warbird
Carol Susan Jane Danvers is a former U.S. Air Force officer. After being exposed to energy caused by the “Psyche-Magnetron” while being in proximity to the hero Captain Marvel, she becomes a human-Kree hybrid. She gains superhuman strength, endurance, speed and even interplanetary flight. She later on also gains the ability to manipulate various forms of energy.
The figure features a butterfly-hinged shoulder joint.
I REALLY love the headsculpt work here! I sometimes wish the G.i. Joe Classified line had sculpts as consistently good as the Marvel Legends line. Particularly when it comes to the female face sculpts.
For added value, the set comes with energy effects parts for Warbird.
Lastly, the figure comes with an alternate head based on Carol’s 1980’s hairstyle.
It’s really impressive. It’s like she just walked out of the comic panel.
But I think I still prefer the later comics domino mask. This headsculpt just looks way too good.
Heh. I wonder if Brie Larson could’ve pulled off this ensemble in the movies?
A definite improvement over the older Warbird we got that came in a 3-pack with Captain America and Radioactive Man from a more than a decade ago.
Overall, pretty good. While admittedly, I’m not the biggest Captain Marvel fan, I do love it when a sculpting team does great work on a figure and they really made this figure look great! However, I wish it came with a flight stand or something to justify the higher-than-usual SRP.
