Marvel Legends X-men ’97 Cyclops
Cyclops is the X-men’s team leader. As one of Professor Xavier’s earliest and most trusted students, he is disciplined and dedicated. Scott Summers always stays on point, giving orders to his team to make sure they win the day and get back home from the mission alive, no matter how dangerous the situation becomes.
The figure reuses parts from the VHS series Cyclops figure, with a new X-men ’97 styled animation model head.
The new cartoon head is a bit too young-looking for my taste. He looks like a teenager here. I do like the smirking face though.
Same as the previous Cyclops release, this one features a “visor-pressing” left hand for his Optic Blasts.
We also get some alternate open hands for posing options.
Lastly, the new alternate head and Optic Blast parts are the main reason to grab this release. This marks the first time we’re getting a Jim Lee-styled Cyclops with Optic Blasts option parts.
After 20-plus years of Marvel Legends, we finally get this! It’s about time!!
Aside from the trigger on the side of Cyclops’ visor, it’s been mentioned that there are also trigger studs in his gloves so he can remotely open his visor without having to press down on the sides of his visor to fire Optic Blasts.
Overall, pretty good. While the figure reuses parts from the last release, the inclusion of the new effects parts really made all the difference. This guy is the best Jim Lee-styled Cyclops figure out right now. If you had to pick one Cyclops figure to get, then this is the one (younger-looking headsculpt aside).
