Matt Trakker
Matt Trakker is the founder and leader of MASK (Mobile Armored Strike Kommand). Using technology he co-developed with his late brother Andy, Matt fights the good fight with his agents in order to stop VENOM and organized crime.
Matt comes with the Spectrum Mask. Which allows the wearer to create and control light and sound energy, as well as control any other form of energy not created by Spectrum nearby, converting some dangerous forms of energy (such as harmful radiation) into harmless sunlight.
Spectrum comes in two versions, with the classic vintage toy version now sporting effects parts sculpted on.
Thunderhawk
Mobile Armored Strike Kommand’s lead unit. This vehicle is often driven by Matt when in the field. It converts from a Chevrolet Camaro Z28 into a gull-winged jet fighter.
Matt fits in well enough, though the clearances are a bit too tight IMHO.
Jet fighter mode
In this mode, the Thunderhawk has multiple attack weapons, such as lasers from its wings, deployable missiles, as well as a front disc shooter.
Effects parts are included with this reissue. These plug into the rear boosters.
A direct port from the vintage toy, these missiles on the underside of the vehicle can be “launched” when you push the rear boosters.
A new accessory to the vehicle is the disc-shooter, which can be attached to the front underside of the vehicle. It can really fire too. Cool!
Overall, I love it! Another excellent port from the old days. This unit does not really suffer in terms of QC (unlike the Rhino). The addition of the effects parts and the front disc launcher are welcome additions. My only gripe would be the figure being a bit too tall when you try to fit him into the vehicle. It’s not super terrible, but I wish getting him into the vehicle would’ve been smoother.
On a side note, I noticed that Matt’s headsculpt looks more show-accurate compared to the head we get with the Rhino, I guess TLS made a running change?
