McFarlane DC Multiverse ’66 Batmobile

Surprisingly, this time McFarlane Toys wrapped the Batmobile in Japanese paper. This is a first.

Batman’s turbo-charged vehicle. The Batmobile comes tricked out with various gadgets and gimmicks, all designed by the Caped Crusader himself to tackle any situation.

Like all previous Batmobiles, this engine exhaust/ launcher is made from rubbery plastic for child safety reasons. I hope it doesn’t degrade over time.

Dashboard details.

Rear booster (too bad the parachute isn’t deployable, lol..) .

It’s a shame the doors don’t open up.

With the Dynamic Duo.

To the Batmobile!!

VROOM!!!!

Batman looks really good in the driver’s seat.

-C’mon, Robin!
-Right behind you, Batman!

Overall, I like it! I’m actually surprised at how decent the proportions turned out for this one. I was expecting a simple upsize of the 6” scale ’66 Batmobile (which doesn’t seem quite long enough to be screen-accurate IMHO), but it seems like they did improve on the dimensions and it sized out looking much better.

I’m really glad they did the seats with lots of space from the get go as well, as the Dynamic Duo can’t fully sit down at a 90-degree angle due to the diaper crotch design on the figures.

The only real downside here are the lack of lights and sounds (too bad McFarlane dropped that gimmick), and the side doors of the Batmobile not being able to open. That aside, this vehicle is very nice when placed next to ’66 Batman and Robin.

Admittedly, I passed on this at first, as I wasn’t able to get a ’66 Batman, but thankfully, McFarlane did a two-pack reissue with Robin this time around, so all’s right with the world again.
