McFarlane Toys The Batman Batmobile

I could be wrong, but I think this is the first time we see McFarlane Toys use plastic inserts instead of cardboard?

A custom-built muscle car made by Bruce Wayne to help the Batman on his war on crime, the Batmobile is outfitted with a powerful engine designed for speed and has unique onboard weapons. All wrapped in a heavily armored car body.

The Batmobile spans roughly 9 x 18.5 inches in dimension.

The vehicle sports some weathering paint apps here and there. I actually don’t like the inclusion of it here. I would’ve preferred a cleaner look for this vehicle.

Some really good sculpt work and detailing on the engine.

It’s a shame McFarlane didn’t include electronics on this one (unlike other more recent Batmobiles). Even just lights would’ve been a nice add-on.

Driver’s side door opens up.

Strangely, the passenger door does not open.

Then again, if you look inside, you’ll see there’s no passenger seat? I really don’t remember if the car was like that in the movie.

The internal details are pretty basic. The dashboard is back to being just stickers instead of sculpted detailing. Sigh…

The headlights can hardly be made out. I wish they used clear parts for this section. Or at least some sort of reflective surface so that the “headlights” pop even when it’s dim.

Bottom side detailing.

The front hood has some nice contrast detailing. No spring gimmicks this time though.

Overall, pretty decent, but it is a bit on the bland side, really. I do wish it came with some electronics or something. The lack of any Bat symbols on it also make it seem more like a generic 6 inch-scaled muscle car rather than an iconic Batmobile. The lack of a passenger side door also seems odd. I’ll have to rewatch the movie to recall if that’s actually a thing.

I couldn’t find my McFarlane The Batman figure from storage while I prepping for this shoot (lol… I misplaced it in one of the boxes, I’ll find it again some day). But I was hoping McFarlane would reissue the figure with a cloth cape so it would go into the vehicle easier, alas.
