S.H. Figuarts My Hero Academia Deku (Izuku Midoria)

Born without powers (aka “Quirks”), Izuku Midoriya is bestowed the powerful gift of “One for All” by the number one hero, All Might. Taking the hero name “Deku”, Midoriya now faces his greatest challenge in the Final War against the League of Villains and their leader Tomura Shigaraki.

Based on Deku’s final costume in season 7 of My Hero Academia, his costume now comes with several improvements by the Support team to help Izuku use One for All to the best of his body’s capabilities while protecting him from the feedback damage he suffers each time he goes all out.
Improvements include:
-Iron Soles – after kicking something, the soles absorb the impact and redistribute the kinetic energy back out to increase the impact strength of Izuku’s kicks after he started using kicks instead of punches.
-Air Force/Mid-Gauntlets – these protect Izuku’s hands and arms when he uses percentage-controlled One For All punches. They do become destroyed when Izuku lands a full 100% punch.
The scarf he wraps himself with is actually Gran Torino’s cape.
Annoyingly, changing the wrists on the figure can be a bit of a hassle, as the ball joint tends to come apart at the halves. I don’t know if this is a general problem, as only the right hand on my copy has this issue, the left hand is fine.
The set comes with various facial expressions for Deku.

He also comes with alternate bangs.

The set comes with effects parts for Izuku, namely the Blackwhip Quirk. Which allows him to project black energy tendrils out of any part of his body. Interestingly, the angrier Izuku becomes, the stronger the Blackwhip effect is.
With these effects parts equipped, you can recreate Deku’s look for his final battle against Tomura Shigaraki, where he fully unleashes One For All.
With the Bandai Anime Heroes Izuku Midoriya (Beta Costume).
Overall, I love it! My Hero Academia is one of my favorite recent Anime and I am glad we finally get Izuku in S.H. Figuarts form (it just took Bandai seven seasons to get it done. Lol). The figure looks great and I am glad it comes with some effects pieces to get Deku into “final battle” look without having to spend for the Plus Ultra effects parts set, if you’re on the fence for that.
The right-hand wrist joint coming apart issue is annoying for the most part on my copy. I really hope this is an isolated issue and not something that happens to all copies. It’s livable, but a big hassle when it comes to something as simple as changing the right hand.
