S.H. Figuarts My Hero Academia Plus Ultra Accessories set

Full Cowl effects parts for Izuku Midoriya / Deku.

Thanks to his training with Gran Torino, Izuku manages to activate the Full Cowl technique, which allows Izuku to precisely control an exact percentage of One For All and spread the effect throughout his body, instead of concentrating it in one location. This results in less strain and damage to his body whenever he uses One for All.

Fa Jin effects parts for Izuku Midoriya / Deku.

Also known as the “Force Discharge” quirk, Fa Jin was the quirk of the third One for All user, Bruce Lee (no, not that guy, this is a different Bruce Lee in the show). Fa Jin allows the user to build up kinetic energy by performing a series of repetitive movements. This results in the user eventually emitting red-colored, glowing energy. When the user finally releases the stored energy, they gain an incredible and sudden burst of speed and power.

You can opt to mix up the effects pieces, just like how Deku looked in the final battle between he and Tomura.

Lastly, the set also comes with “flicking” hands for Deku. In this attack, Izuku focuses to “shoot” bursts of pressurized air that he creates by flicking his fingers.

For Great Murder Explosion God Dynamight (Katsuki Bakugo), the set offers the Suppressive Heavy Mobile Unit “Strafe Panzer”, a support item that he uses in battle. Featuring retractable machine guns loaded with Katsuki’s nitroglycerine-like sweat for explosive ammunition.

To attach the backpack, you’ll have to remove this cover piece from Katsuki’s back first.

These two smaller, shoulder-pad cannons actually serve as aim sights for the Strafe Panzer. Be careful when plugging in the cables into the small holes in the shoulder pads.

Plugging all the guns together is a huge pain. As it involves pushing the small posts with ball joints into the sockets. Get ready for sore thumbs when you’re done. I really wish these came pre-assembled in the box instead of having to assemble them. This means you will have to disassemble them again when you’re returning them back into the box.

To complete the look for the final attack, you’ll have to add these effects parts to his alternate hands.

While using the Strafe Panzer with the blasts from his Grenade Bracers, the ultimate move is called the “Howitzer Impact: Cluster”

For even more added value, the set also comes with alternate forearms for Bakugo, you will have to manually pullout the Grenade Bracers, followed by pulling out the small outer forearm pieces.

These are what remains of his Grenade Bracers once Bakugo goes all out and detonates all of the stored explosive sweat inside each gauntlet.

The main heroes of My Hero Academia.

Finally, the last accessories to cover for this set are these comic book-styled word effects. Taking a page from the Revoltech releases a few years back, Bandai decided to do their own take on these pretty cool visual props.

All together

Overall, pretty good. I love how well things compliment both figures. Though I think Katsuki gets the lions’ share of the content for this pack. I also love that they thought to include the comic book word effects pieces, as that was actually one of the cooler accessories back when Revoltech had the license.

If you have Deku and Great Murder Explosion God Dynamight, I think it’s a forgone conclusion you’re going to need this set. Thankfully, it isn’t a P-Bandai/ Tamashii Website exclusive and it is available at mass retail.

My biggest complaint would really have to be assembling the Strafe Panzers. It was really huge pain for the thumbs to plug all those ball joints in… only to remove them later to return them into the box. Urrgh…

I wonder if we’ll get a second effects set later on for Ochaco and Shoto?
