G Thunder Gate, Launch!
The main support unit for Compatible Kaiser, the G Thunder Gate is piloted by Kohta Azuma’s sister, Shoko Azuma.
A flight stand included. This is actually just the center piece base of most Riobot figures.
An adapter piece is provided.
G Thunder Gate’s Attacks
The G Thunder Gate features some attack weaponry, mainly the Thunder Smasher and G Missiles. Some parts swapping will be required.
For Starters, take out these pieces and move them to the Thunder Smasher rails.
Take note, there’s a certain key way to plug in the rails.
Thunder Smasher – Deployable twin cannons that can shoot powerfully destructive beam shots at its targets. These cannons are also the same ones that become G Compatible Kaiser’s Shoulder Cannons.
G Missiles
Same as with the Thunder Smasher, the missile pods will have to be placed into position by first removing the wing assembly on the craft.
In the games, the G Missiles are often used as a Map attack only, as opposed to a single target attack.
Gate Breaker – The G Thunder Gate’s finishing move. The craft builds up speed and places up a barrier on its nosecone, before crashing directly into an opponent, puncturing through it.
Overall, not too shabby. It does come with some very nice paint detailing and at least it comes with some option parts to make it interesting. Admittedly, the unit is a bit of a lightweight thanks to the lack of any diecast parts. The good news is, the price for this isn’t too crazy.
The real value of this set lies in its combination with Compatible Kaiser to form the G Compatible Kaiser.
