Soul of Chogokin Gx-105 TN Mazinger Z Kakumei Shinka-Store Limited Edition-

The manual is colored!

Hover Pileder

Koji Kabuto’s transport craft. It’s intended for docking and controlling Mazinger Z.

Mazin Go!

Pileder on!

Mazinger Z

A super robot created by Koji’s grandfather, Mazinger Z is outfitted with a nearly-indestructible armor alloy called “Chogokin”, making it nearly unbeatable. Mazinger Z is also powered by Photonic energy, a clean energy source which allows Mazinger to fire powerful heat rays and beams.

This figure is a straight up redeco of the Gx-105 Mazinger Z Kakumei Shinka mass retail release.

Same as with the mass retail version, to allow Mazinger to use its “Missile Punch” gimmick, you’ll have to swap out the belly plate.

Missile Punch!

Mazinger Z’s most iconic attack is the “Rocket Punch”.

The Gx-105’s firing gimmick is still present, just simply press on the back side of Mazinger’s shoulders to fire the forearm.

Mazinger Z’s most powerful finisher attack is called the “Breast Fire”! An intense heat beam fired from its chest plates.

The Jet Scrander

After 34 episodes, Mazinger finally gets upgraded to have a rocket pack and wings, which allows it to finally fly and take on airborne opponents.

Before you can attach the Scrander to Maz, you’ll have to swap out the clasp unit.

Too bad the clasp isn’t chromed finish, I think it would’ve been a nicer look.

Scrander Cross!

Once the Jet Scrander is attached, you’re supposed to remove the front control antenna piece on the unit for show accuracy (it sinks into the unit after the Scrander docks with Mazinger) .

Overall, still a pretty good piece, despite being a simple redeco.

As this is the 5th release of Gx-105 mold (and the 31st release of Mazinger Z in the Soul of Chogokin line!), I didn’t feel like going through the entire process of making an in-depth review for this figure again, so I decided to keep things brief.

The bottom line, it looks better than the original Gx-105 thanks to the chrome finish, though I do wish they made the Scrander clasp chromed, too. Between this or the Gx-105, I’d probably go with this one, unless you need to pair it up with Great Mazinger (which doesn’t have chromed version as of this writing in May 2026), then the Gx-105 is the way to go.

Oh yeah, knowing Bandai , chances are, we’ll probably see a “cartoon colors” version of this mold at some point down the line. Given their track record for doing reissues and redecos as of late.

This piece was only available at the Tamashii Nations Store in Japan and at certain Tamashii Nations Pop Up Store events.
