Storm Arena Street Fighter Zero Ryu

Display Base – The set comes with a pretty nifty display base so you can pose Ryu in his iconic Shoryuken and Tatsumaki Senpukyaku poses.

The arm angle is adjustable

There’s an alternate waist clip you can use if you don’t want to use the clear one.

Though personally, I think I prefer the clear waist clip.

The main hero of the Street Fighter series, Ryu has been the main staple character since the original Street Fighter game (when you couldn’t select anyone else but him). Focused purely on sharpening his skills by facing stronger opponents, Ryu doesn’t care for accolades or trophies. Only the fight matters to this world warrior.

This appearance is based on the Street Fighter Alpha/ Zero series, meant to take place before the events of Street Fighter II. Ryu’s headband is still white here, since Ken eventually gifts him with his read headband at the end of the Alpha/ Zero saga.

Ryu’s gi can be removed by simply unbuttoning his belt. It’s cool but not really something that he ever did in the games, so I didn’t bother with it. Nice concept though.

I love the texture on his gi. It looks so detailed compared to Jada’s Street Fighter line.

The face print on Ryu is also very nicely done.

“Ready!”

”Fight!”

I love that the figure can pull off almost every pose one can think of straight from the games.

”Hadoken!” -Ryu’s iconic fireball attack. The effects part for the Hadoken is included but you will need to use the display base platform for it.

Oddly, the height is a bit off. Whether you use two or three posts, it’s still wrong.

I had to cheat the height a bit by using just two posts to get it to the proper height by not plugging the posts all the way in. Very strange oversight here.

”Tatsumaki Senpukyaku!” -Ryu’s spinning kick.

”Shoryuken!” – Ryu’s uppercut attack.
”You win!”

With the cardboard backdrop.

Overall, a very, very amazing set! I was apprehensive at first, as I really didn’t want to start another line. But I eventually gave in after hearing so many good things about this line and I have to say, value-for-money-wise, it’s impressive! The inclusion of a very detailed stand for the holding the figure’s poses is something I never thought we would ever see in this day and age. The figure is very well done and can capture the poses of the fighter from the games. The attention to detail is well thought out. Just wow on every level.
One slight issue though is Ryu’s knees. There seems to be an issue with the part yellowing (turning green) on most folk’s copies right now and I can see it starting happening on my figure as well. I guess I might have to paint over it or something down the road. But I hope this won’t be an issue with future releases for this line. Storm totally knocked this one out of the park!
