Studio Series Devastation Deluxe Class Optimus Prime
As leader of the Autobots, Optimus Prime makes it a priority to stop the Decepticons from destroying the Earth in their mad plans for universal conquest. Strong, courageous and noble, Prime leads his army with the wisdom of past Autobot leaders stored in the Matrix of Leadership.
The figure features all-new tooling for a Deluxe Class Optimus Prime figure. The deco is based on designs from the Transformers Devastation video game released back in 2015.
Lol.. I think this is the first time we’re getting butt-wheels on Prime. He looks terrible from the back.
Prime comes with an unpainted Matrix of Leadership.
At least he can hold the Matrix now, thanks to the pegs designed on the sides of the Matrix.
Instead of the usual Ion Blaster, Prime just comes with his Energon Axe.
Sadly, instead of the usual clear parts for the weapon, we get a painted plastic axe. It looks kinda wrong. The “swoosh” effect looks terrible, too.
Prime’s Energon Axe can be mounted on the alt mode.
Overall, wow… this is disappointing. The figure feels very, very cheap. The plastic feels even more hollow than usual; the lack of a rifle is dumb and the lack of paint on the Matrix feels like a big rip-off. It honestly feels like we got a Kabaya Gum figure here, priced as a Deluxe Class figure. I am so glad I didn’t pay full SRP for this.
If this is the future of Transformer figures, this will be terrible. No way was this worth the original sticker price.
