Transformers Age of the Primes Deluxe Class Powerglide

As one of the few Autobots that can fly, Poweglide loves showing off. Highly maneuverable when in the air, his talents can sometimes impress even the Decepticons that chase after him. Gutsy and has a love for adventure, Powerglide tends to take on more than he can handle, particularly when it comes to Decepticons.

Personally I do wish the eyes were sculpted to look a bit smaller. They seem so wide-eyed.

Powerglide comes with a “generic” Autobot blaster. This is actually the first time we’re getting this weapon (finally!) in the CHUGs line. We usually see this gun used by Ratchet and Ironhide in the Masterpiece line.

The Alien mask-from the episode “Hoist Goes to Hollywood” is included. For folks who remember this is the “evil alien robot” mask Powerglide, Tracks, Hoist, Sunstreaker and Warpath were wearing while shooting a movie for a film studio in the episode. It’s shame that the mask only fits onto Powerglide though, meaning that this accessory can’t be mounted on the other guys.

To don the mask, you’ll have to turn his face around to reveal these slots for the mask.

The alien mask can also be mounted on his blaster for some reason. Ah well… more play value, I guess.

Lastly, as a throwback to the old G1 episode “The Girl Who Loved Powerglide”, we get this little “heart” outline on his inner chest panel, just like in the last shot of the cartoon. Cute…

As a nice throwback to the vintage toy, the alt mode features a non-functioning rub-sign.

The mask and blaster combo can be mounted on top of the alt mode.

Overall, pretty good. We finally have a proper Powerglide figure to go with the modern-scaled Minibots in the CHUGs line. We’re only missing Tailgate and Wheelie now I think to wrap up the roster, after 5 years.
While it’s not perfect (the arms in plane mode still come out looking odd), at least we now have a very toon-accurate Powerglide in the CHUGs line.
