Transformers Age of the Primes Deluxe Class Skydive
One of the most skilled flying Transformers around, Skydive loves the science behind aerial movement. A quiet, well-read thinker, Skydive serves as the Aerialbot team’s Air Warfare Strategist, always preparing strategies for highly likely air-borne skirmishes against the Decepticons.
Skydive shares a lot of the same parts as Air Raid.
While he does share the same torso mold as Air Raid, at least Hasbro gave us an additional plate to cover up his left side, so they’re not totally alike (unlike Slingshot and Fireflight).
He comes with two of his Nega Guns, which breaks down its targets by breaking their molecular bonds.
Skydive’s Nega Guns can be mounted under his wings in jet mode.
Comparison with his “moldmate” Air Raid.
Overall, a decent release. Like the rest of the team, this buck looks more screen accurate compared to the old Combiner Wars release. One thing I didn’t expect was for Hasbro to reuse Air Raid’s body for Skydive. It works to a degree, though, thanks to the additional panel on his left chest, so the reuse isn’t that obvious.
Personally, my biggest issue with this guy is the face sculpt. His cheekbones look really strange and his eyes are practically squinting. What’s up with that? Lol.
