Transformers Age of the Primes Leader Class Liege Maximo

Remember to flip out these heel panels before standing him up when you first pop him out of the box.

Liege Maximo’s original story in the Generation 2 comics was never fully explained due to the book being cancelled by Marvel Comics after just 12 issues. He was just introduced in the final panel as the one who created the Decepticons. His story would later be further fleshed out in the IDW Comics as one of the original Thirteen Primes. He would be rewritten as the Prime of Lies, sowing mistrust and deception amongst his brothers and sister.

The design of the figure is pretty spot on to how he looked when he was first introduced back in the 1990s at the end of the Generation 2 comics saga.

As a Leader Class figure, he comes with openable hands.

For weaponry, Liege Maximo comes with his launcher, which can be equipped with three Liegian Darts.

Liege’s darts are based off of the three ships we see in one early concept illustration of Liege Maximo. In the Earthspark series, each of the darts contained powerful toxins designed to affect its target in different ways. It was even strong enough to corrupt the Allspark.

Liege’s left forearm can also transform into a cannon.

Lol.. for added play value, the designers decided to make the launcher be able to plug into the left forearm cannon for some reason.

Overall, not bad. While I’m not really a fan of the design look for this guy (the green could’ve been a little darker, with maybe some rusty weathering IMHO), he is still a huge part of the old G1 Marvel mythos and worth picking up (Lol. Admittedly, I passed on all of the other 13 Primes, they look terrible together due to the lack of vibrant colors and just did not do anything for me).
