Transformers Age of the Primes Titan Class Trypticon

Titan Master Necro
Originally a small maintenance bot that transformed into a black car and appeared only in the comics in the Marvel Comics run, Wipe-Out is finally given a toy form and renamed as Necro for the Titans Return line. He makes his reappearance here.

With Necro
The hatch opens up so Necro can ride in (he actually comes in package already inside the driver’s seat).
“Head on!
Robot mode.
Trypticon’s chest unit. Full-tilt often acts as a scout for the lumbering, city-sized giant it serves, constantly on the lookout for Autobot traps and ambushes in Trypticon’s path. When not in battle, Full-tilt helps with maintenance work on Trypticon.
The figure is a redeco of the Full-tilt that came with Titans Return Trypticon.

He still comes with his “Electro-disruptor”/ twin-barrel pistol.
Full-tilt sports very minimal deco, just his Decepticon chest symbol, eyes, plus some paint on his wheel mags and pistol.

Trypticon Nemesis Class Spaceship

Trypticon’s original Battle Station mode from the G1 has been rebranded as the Nemesis (the G1 Decepticon Earth-built spaceship from the end of “More than Meets the Eye”and eventual base for most of Seasons 1 and 2).
Front cannons
Large “Tunnel” passageway in the center of the ship.
Launch ramp for Full-tilt.
Double Cannons
Same as before, the front section of the ship can open up to allow Deluxe Class sized figures to be loaded in.
Trypticon City mode

Trypticon’s city mode features several expansions from its ship mode, with added flip-out platforms and connectors for interacting with other Titans that have the “Adaptable Interconnection Retrofitter Lock System”, or the A.I.R. Lock System.
Helipads
Since Full-tilt is supposed to be rolling around the perimeter of this mode, you can opt to transform his docking platform into a tower for city mode.
I prefer the “solid” opaque center ramp here compared to the clear one on the Titans Returns version.

Naturally, the “city mode” scale looks best when displayed with Titan Masters.

Beast Mode
Created by the Decepticons to only know rage and hatred, Trypticon is single-minded in its purpose; to destroy any and all Autobots! Due to its sheer size and power, only the Autobot City, Metroplex, stands a chance of stopping this rampaging force of destruction.
The figure is a straight up redeco of the Titans Return Trypticon, now with a more cartoon-accurate deco scheme as compared to the original version’s more vintage toy-based aesthetics.

One of the larger figures in the Transformers line, Trypticon takes up roughly 22 x 19 x 14 inches of dimension on a shelf.
Ankle joints. I really wish Hasbro revisits Metroplex and Fortress Maximus with improved ankle joints.
Same as before, Full-tilt docks onto Trypticon’s chest, forming the latter’s main chest.
I gotta say, the darker color scheme really grows on you.
A carry over gimmick from the Titans Return release, you can use Titan Master Necro to trigger the hidden laser cannon gimmick. Alternately, you can just lift it up manually.

I really love the clear parts for his hips.
Shoulder cannons.

The “Titan Masters swallowing gimmick” has been retained for this release, just have any Titan Master get gulped down and you can extract it from Trypticon’s belly afterward.

It’s a shame we don’t get a properly recolored Brunt (the transforming laser cannon) to complete the support bots for this big guy.

Overall, pretty good. Obviously, it is roughly the same as the Titans Returns version from eight years ago, just with a different color scheme. Given the choice, I do prefer this look when compared to the previous release.
I was really hoping Hasbro would at least include Brunt with matching deco this time around, just to complete the original Trypticon team, as the Siege series Brunt is impossible to find at retail now, plus the decos won’t match up. But Hasbro gonna Hasbro. Sigh… At least it’s a chance for folks to backtrack and pick up one of the cooler Titans Class figures, almost a decade after the original’s release.
