Transformers Bad Cube OTS-10 Slick (Masterpiece Swerve)

Since this is a Third Party, non-official item, it’s best to get some stickers from Reprolabels/Toyhax.com to make this guy more “toon-accurate”.

To apply, I find the best way to stick the stickers on is to use the tip of a blade, this way you have more control over the application, as compared to using just your fingers. You can also use the blade to help gently peel off a corner of the sticker in case you didn’t center it right and need to re-apply.

Swerve is the Autobot’s metallurgist (an expert on the chemical and physical properties of metals), he was hardly seen in the G1 cartoons (he was stepped on by Trypticon in the “Five Faces of Darkness”) and didn’t really do much on the show. He was given wider appeal during the IDW Transformers comics run. According to his bio, he easily gets distracted and is always getting into accidents.

He comes with his pistol.

He also comes with a “yelling” head for some reason.

Slick stands roughly 5 inches and weighs 90 Grams.

Diecast parts include:
-Feet (same with Grump)

His chest panel opens up, but unlike Badcube Grump, the panel is underneath is completely different (does not have a slot for the circuit board).

Weapon can be mounted on the rear bumper.

Comparison with Badcube Grump (Gears)

Interior panels are sculpted differently between the two.

Comparison with the Takara Masterpieces

Overall, not bad. I think I actually like this figure more than Grump. Given how little screen time Swerve had in the G1 cartoons, I think it’s safe to say Takara won’t be making this guy as a Masterpiece figure for quite some time, assuming they do it at all. So far, only Badcube has made a Swerve figure in line with Masterpiece figures, so if you’re going for a complete G1 character lineup in Masterpiece scale, this is the only way to go.
