Transformers Beelzeboss “Growing Pains” Upgrade set for Bumblebee to Gold Bug
I have to hand it to this third party crew, making a Goldbug head works for the United BB body. A bit pricey for a head and 2 guns though.
But, replacing the head is hard, you have to unscrew the default Bumblebee head, and then have to pry the locking peg loose (it is SUPER TIGHT!) I was afraid when I heard the snap that I broke the peg. I don’t think it’s possible to pull the head from the ball joint as the ball joint is big. This is not for the faint of heart.
But the effect is well worth it
Goldbug appeared in the original G1 cartoons, Bumblebee was heavily damaged in the final episode of Season 3 (the hate plague story arc). He was later rebuilt as Goldbug. In the original Marvel Comics run, Bumblebee was heavily damaged in the GiJoe/Transformers run. Bumblebee came back later when he gained his Pretender shell.
