Transformers Cyberverse Rack’n’Ruin

Introduced in the old Marvel UK Transformers comics, this character was originally two separate Transformers but were combined into a single body with surgery to save their lives. Often appearing in the comics as a member of the Autobot sub-group, the Wreckers, this duo have also now started to appear in the cartoons, starting with the Transformers Cyberverse animated series.

The figure stands at roughly 6.25 inches tall.

Unfortunately, the figure suffers from loose joints, particularly with regards to his hips. Getting him to stand in an action pose can be a chore sometimes.

Out of the package, his weapon is actually already mounted on his back, it serves as his spoiler in vehicle mode.

A running gag on the Cyberverse series often shows Rack’n’Ruin stacking large crates on board the Ark, followed by something happening that ruins the finished stack and the duo having to restack everything from start again.

Too bad these things on his arms aren’t deployable, for a second I thought they were his primary weapons.

It also features a deployable “Energon Armor” gimmick. It’s actually interesting as the armor flips out automatically to cover the duo. You have to reset the gimmick manually afterwards though.

Overall, not bad I guess, even though it is a bit pricey for what it is (I tend to look at the Cyberverse toys as items targeted for young children) as the figure is priced roughly the same price as a Voyager Class figure. I gave in and got this since it’s highly doubtful we’ll get a Rack’n’Ruin figure in the CHUGs line and he is a common staple in the Wreckers team.
