Transformers Retro Cardback Outback
Not one for following rules or protocol, Outback prefers to do things his way, through the shortest route possible, without a care in the world.
The figure is a retool redeco of Studio Series Brawn.
He also talks with an Australian accent in the cartoons.
While the figure isn’t quite 100% cartoon-accurate (the legs need to be skinny, just like the G1 toy), I think I prefer this design as it makes Outback look more proportional compared to the animation models.
Outback comes with his trusty turret-mounted mortar cannon that shoots armor-piercing shells.
His gun can be posted into his back for storage.
Outback’s alt mode is fairly impressive in that he can traverse almost any terrain, even ones as inclined at a 50 degree angle.
His weapon can be plugged into the roof of his alt mode.
Overall, it’s easily the best Outback figure. The previous Power of the Primes Legends Class release doesn’t hold a candle to this version. The head is much more toon-accurate, it comes with a weapon, and looks and scales better with the other Minibots. It’s a must have if you’re completing the upgraded versions of the Minibots.
