Transformers SS ’86 Deluxe Class Perceptor, Ratbat & Ramhorn
One of the top scientific minds on Cybertron, Perceptor is a genius. A true scientist and is forever in the pursuit of knowledge, his discoveries bring great advancements to the Autobot cause, even if Perceptor tends to bore the Autobots to tears when it comes to explaining the details.
The figure is a redeco and minor retool of the previously release SS86 Perceptor. With more screen accurate colors and slightly better torso design.
Perceptor’s chest panel can open up in robot mode to serve as an examination tray.
Perceptor comes with his iconic Concussion Rifle.
In some cases, Perceptor can also use his shoulder microscope as a shoulder-mounted cannon.
As noted on the back of the packaging, Perceptor can use the weapons of the Cassettebots as well.
Perceptor’s weapon can be mounted on the side of the alt mode.
Ramhorn
Stubborn and very bad-tempered, there’s not much that can’t set off Ramhorn’s anger. Easily goaded into combat, this Autobot likes to smash everything in his way once’s he’s provoked until he tires himself out.
Ratbat
Ratbat functions as a fuel scout for the Decepticons. This greedy Cassettebot tends to treat all of his allies as “business partners”, preferring to not help when there is nothing to be gained. He also prides himself on being highly efficient.
The figure is a redeco re-release of the Ratbat from the Siege two-pack that came with Rumble, this time sporting his classic left and right thrusters, something that the previous release is lacking.
Overall, not bad, I guess. At least folks can now manage to get Studio Series 86 Perceptor if they missed him the first time.
But it will certainly feel like a rip-off for most collectors who already got him and now have to double-dip just to get the Cassettebots (mainly Ramhorn) included in this set.
