Transformers Studio Series 86-24 Voyager Class Scrapheap

Junkion Dance Party backdrop

One of the many Junkions that appear alongside Wreck-Gar in the 1986 The Transformers movie, Scrapheap is mostly remembered for being the Junkion who threw a grappling chain at Springer’s tail rotor to try to bring him down. Springer managed to pulled free, sending Scrapheap crashing out.

The figure is a retool of Studio Series Wreck-Gar, featuring a new head, chest, arms and lower legs.

Tire shields. Just like with Wreck-Gar and Junkheap, these tend to slide off a bit too easily. Simply tilting the figure results in the shields coming off. It can get annoying at times.

Unlike Wreck-Gar and Junkheap, who both came with a four-bladed axe weapon, Scrapheap comes with a blaster as his only weapon. Too bad he doesn’t come with a grappling chain accessory though.

The bike mode has kickstands to keep it level.

Scrapheap’s blaster can be mounted on the side of the bike mode.

(In a Frank Welker voice) “Yeah, or your money back!” (Scrapheap’s only speaking line in the entire movie)

I’m really glad Hasbro didn’t get lazy here and actually invested in new, screen-accurate sculpting for this guy for variety.

Naturally, the Junkions can transform and be either the bike or the rider.

Admittedly, the bike seems out of proper scale to the rider.

Here’s hoping Hasbro releases more Junkions. There are still a couple of uniques they can make from the movie.

Overall, a pretty decent set. It’s nice to add some more Junkions to the collection, since there were plenty of these guys in the movie. Plus, he does come with some decent new tooling. I do wish Hasbro included a grappling chain accessory for this guy, since that’s his most outstanding moment in the film.

Funfact Like Junkheap, never had any real solid dialogue in the ‘86 movie, but does he more or less makes an appearance in every scene that Wreck-Gar is in, so that’s something.
