Transformers Studio Series ’86 Leader Class Soundwave

Extremely loyal to Megatron, Soundwave serves as the Decepticon leader’s spy-master. Monitoring both Autobot activity, as well as reporting any hints of possible treason from within their own ruthless organization. Armed with a wide array of weapons and partnered with his ever-dependable Cassettetron minions, Soundwave is a formidable force to be reckoned with.

Naturally, Soundwave’s Cassettetrons can fit inside his chest.

Too bad you can only fit one at a time though.

Soundwave comes with his Concussion Blaster

He also comes with his shoulder-mounted Rocket Launcher.

While Soundwave’s left hand does present his index finger somewhat positioned to press down on his Cassettetron ejector, that’s about as far as it can go, you can’t really get his arm to go down any lower in order to fully press the button.

With Leader Class Studio Series Megatron.

Laserbeak

To properly set up the blasters, plug them together into this piece.

Mounted with twin laser cannons, Laserbeak loves hunting down his targets, especially ones that are too weak to fight back. While cruel and dangerous, especially in the skies, he does tend to flee as soon as he senses his opponents are much stronger than he is.

Buzzsaw

Armed with a Diamond-hard, micro-serrated beak, Buzzsaw considers himself as an artist, tearing up each of his victims to create a masterful work of art. Equipped with twin mortar cannons and capable of flying at speeds of 250mph, this bird of prey is terror from the skies.

A couple of bird brains.

Thanks to the additional 5mm post, you can get Soundwave (or anyone actually), to hold Laserbeak and Buzzsaw’s weapons.

Ravage

Silent and crafty, this Decepticon saboteur emits an electromagnetic emmission shield that conceals his presence. Allowing him to sneak behind enemy Autobot lines without anyone noticing.

Ravage’s tail is actually a separate piece this time around, as it connects to his twin heat-seeking missile launchers.

Without his tail, Ravage looks very off.

Same as with the bird blasters, you can also use Ravage’s missile pods as handheld weapons for Soundave.

Soundwave’s spy team.

The team (I didn’t have time to break out Rumble and Frenzy, I’ll have to revisit this later on).

Overall, I’m happy to finally get this guy in hand. I had originally thought about skipping this, as I already have the Netflix version, but I still needed Buzzsaw to complete crew. Good thing I decided to pre-order this, as I didn’t realize that this guy features all-new tooling, different from the Netflix mold.
