In the G1 Headmasters saga, Chromedome was the field team leader and second in command after Fortress. In more current times in the IDW comics, he became.. involved with Rewind.

The head sculpt for the Hasbro version closely follows the IDW appearance of the character.
Comparison with the Takara version. Takara on the right.
The guns are brighter red on the Hasbro version.
I think I’ll stick with the Takara version for this guy. Not really feeling the IDW comics inspired head sculpt.
