Transformers Legacy Doom & Destruction: Bludgeon & Ruckus

Bludgeon
A formidable warrior skilled in the ancient Cybertronian martial art form known as Metallikato, Bludgeon moves swiftly in battle, easily slicing through his enemies thanks to his long Energo-sword. Charismatic and cunning, he also serves as the leader of the Decepticon sub-group known as the Mayhem Attack Squad. A proud Decepticon, Bludgeon strictly adheres to his own code of honor, twisted as it maybe.
The figure is a retool/ redeco of Legacy Voyager Class Bludgeon (itself a retool/ redeco of Legacy Tarn), with a new head and torso.

As with Tarn, his hands can open up thanks to the hinges in the knuckles.
His twin cannons from his tank mode can be mounted on his forearms.

Same as before, the cannons can also be reconfigured to be mounted onto his back.
The cannons can also be combined together to form a longer Fusion cannon for Bludgeon.

As an expert in Metallikato, he comes with his huge Energo-sword, which he uses with great efficiency on the battlefield.
When not in use, the sword can be pegged into his back.

Bludgeon’s sword can be mounted on the side of the alt mode.
One of the better tank modes in the entire Transformers toyline IMHO.
Ruckus
Reckless and looks forward to causing destruction wherever he goes (even to his own chassis), Ruckus is a walking junkpile thanks to all the damage he’s suffered over the years crashing into everything to get his mission done. As one of the Decepticon Triggercons, Ruckus is armed with heavy-duty rocket launchers that deploy from his backpack that fire mercury tipped explosives.
The figure is a retool/ redeco of Legacy Deluxe Class Beachcomber.

The set tries to recreate Ruckus’ shoulder rocket launchers from the G1 toy. Too bad there’re no spring-loaded gimmicks here to fully recreate the effect. You’ll have to flip them out manually.
When not in use, the launchers can be folded into his backpack.
The rocket launchers can also be removed and placed in his hands, if you so choose.
Since he reuses parts from Beachcomber, Hasbro decided to include the latter’s gun here as well (since it is an intrinsic part of the alt mode’s design).

“Get wrecked, Autobots!”
Similar to Beachcomber, his tires are made from rubbery PVC, as opposed to hard plastic wheels.
Also, as with Beachcomber, the rifle has be mounted on the front to serve as the buggy mode’s front grill.
The launchers can be folded down in vehicle mode.

Together, these two Decepticons were a part of the Mayhem Attack Squad (alongside several G1 misfits from later parts of the toyline).
Overall, not too bad. Both figures are pretty decent. I think it’s great that the designers were able to get some more mileage out of Beachcomber’s mold, since it is one of the nicer and more fun to handle designs in recent memory.
Admittedly, though, I only got this set for Ruckus, as he is part of the original G1 Triggercons sub-group. I really would’ve preferred to not get Bludgeon again if that was possible, as we already just got him less than a year before. Ah, well..

The set was released as an Amazon Exclusive in the U.S.
