NECA Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1990 Movie Shredder
Interestingly, Shredder comes with a Silica gel packet, seeing as how none of the other figures has this, it must be due to his cape? To prevent molds?
The turtles’ arch-nemesis and leader of the Foot Clan, the Shredder is a highly dangerous foe.
His costume somewhat closely resembles his original look in the comics (hence the red instead of gray), but the use of sequences for the costume always felt very strange and flashy for a “ninja” who operates in the shadows.
Be mindful of the blades on his fist, I held the hand wrong while trying to swap the hands and the blade came off. Fortunately, it was easily fixed with super glue.
His mask is removable, showing his scarred face from his first encounter with Splinter (while he was still a rat).
He comes with a shiny cape, just how it briefly appears in the movie. The execution of this is very cool. I like how NECA did the cape, without resorting to using a plastic piece. Very well done NECA!
For weapons, he comes with a small dagger and sheathe, just like what he tried to use against Splinter in the final battle of the first movie. I think the sheathe can be tucked into his garter belt (I forgot to try).
Oddly, mine came with two daggers, luck of the draw?
He also comes with a double bladed staff, which he used in the rooftop battle with the Turtles.
“You fight well… in the old style. But you’ve caused me enough trouble. Now you face: the Shredder.”
